Ahhhhhhh our bathroom. We’ve been verging on the edge of beginning renovations for months almost a year, but I think we’re almost there. The suite is picked out, tiles ready to go and we have a start date (that’s already been moved back by three weeks – HOORAY). We’re still miles away from a bathroom tour, so instead I thought I’d let you have a nose around my toiletry stash: the summer edition…

Let’s talk shower stuff first. I’m not too fussy when it comes to shower gels and often end up using whatever Mark has on the go when mine runs out, but the Neal’s Yard Citrus Shower Gel is one that we both fight over. Unsurprisingly zingy and fresh, it’s the kind of scent that really gives you an awakening wallop in the mornings. Then for hair of course I’m still using my trusty Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo that always manages to keep my locks feeling squeaky clean (in a good way), though I have been using a bit of the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Frizz Remedy* on the ends recently as my hair is getting a bit fried from all my ‘wannabe Olsen-waves‘ straightener use.

Hair removal-wise, I’ve been using a combination of the Gillette Venus Classic Razor* and the Braun Silk-Expert IPL*. In the shower I do a quick whip around with the razor, but I’ve been testing out the IPL for almost two months on my under arm area and I’d say that I’m now at the point where I’m noticing that it’s taking longer for the hair to grow back. I’ve never tried anything like this before, but the Silk-Expert offers permanent hair removal using the fastest at-home IPL technology available. It’s not painful (though it is noticeable – it just feels warm on the area that you’re using it on), but I’ll definitely keep you updated on this one.

I’ve been slapping on the tanner and going back to some old favourites; using the Xen-Tan Fresh Prep Scrub, St Tropez Self Tan Express Bronze Mousse and then the Kypris Body Elixir between tanning to give a bit of a sheen back to my skin. I’m not too fussy when it comes to scrubs and oils; I use whatever I’ve got hanging around – although both of the aforementioned products do work well for me. The tan however, is fab. The instructions say to leave it on for three hours and rinse it off, but I’m a rebel and leave it on all night before rinsing it off in the morning. I even have the orange bedsheets to prove it (don’t worry – it washes out!).

Then by the sink I have the Oral B Pro Expert Toothpaste* and Oral B Genius Electric Toothbrush* and together I’ve been finding them to be a bit of a dream team when it comes to taking care of my pearly whites. The toothbrush is almost like a toothbrush from the future in that it combines motion sensor technology in the brush and video recognition using your smartphone’s camera to track the areas of the mouth being brushed so that no zone is missed. It makes brushing your teeth into a game that’s as addicting as Pokemon Go (I mean, I’m completely guessing as I’m the only person on the planet right now who hasn’t downloaded it yet). There’s a tonne of modes to choose from, but overall I’ve been finding that my teeth feel even cleaner than usual. Thumbs up.

Right – that’s the summer bathroom edit sorted. Who knows? Maybe the next time I give you a tour we might have the bathroom sorted? Crazier things have happened, eh?
