Treats From The Other Side of The Pond

If my friend and fellow YouTuber, Sandra, offered makeup personal shopping experiences then I think I’d be more than happy to never shop on my lonesome again and happily spend the rest of my beauty purchasing life with her guiding me in the right direction. Sandra’s taste is impeccable; always chic, always subtle, though don’t bother with any contouring recommendations because she has the cheekbones of a goddess. If there was a contour powder that created those kind of cheekbones I’d happily empty my life savings. Bone structure admiring aside, whenever a parcel arrives from the other side of the pond from her I do an inward squeal (heck – I do an outward squeal – no one can hear me anyway!) and her latest parcel that arrived a few week’s ago was no exception to the rule. I love it all. In case you fancy adding a few things to your Sephora/drugstore shopping list…

Covergirl Super Sizer Waterproof Mascara. This was the whole catalyst for our swap because I couldn’t find it in stock when I last visited the U.S. Sandra predicted this would become a favourite of mine and she was right. The slanted, fine, plastic comb is a bit of a weird one but there’s no clumping of product and it sweeps onto the lashline in a natural flowing way and the lashes, well the lashes! Big, long, beefy and with a curl that ain’t going anywhere. It gets a big thumbs up from me.

BITE Beauty Luminous Creme Lipstick in Pepper. I think this might be my favourite pick of the bunch. It’s a shade that I can only describe as ‘fig’ – do you know what I mean? A bit brown, a bit rusty almost? As an opaque colour I think I’d be a bit intimated by it, but the soft, moisturising but not glossy, finish makes this an extremely wearable colour that I’ve found myself grabbing for whatever I’m wearing on the rest of my face.

Too Faced Love Flush in Baby Love. This is one of Sandra’s top blush picks and I can see why. Not only is it as cute as a Polly Pocket, the colour inside is one of those tawny pinks making it the perfect shade for the winter season. Despite the name it’s not a baby pink and so doesn’t compete with whatever lip you’ve got going on and though there’s a touch of golden shimmer in there, it just adds a softness when applied to the cheeks. Lovely.

Thank you Sandra for your amazing gifts and actually I take all of your recommendations on board – including the contour ones – just incase there’s a smidge of hope that they’ll create some definition on my football face. A girl can dream.
