Coconut Primers? I’m In.

IMG_0032

My face primer tastes have changed this year and veered off from the ‘long-lasting‘ and ‘acts like a glue for your base‘ type formulas and into ones that provide radiance and glow and make my skin look like it did back when I was a teenager. That’s not too much to ask right? I’ve found a few that do a good job of fulfilling that brief and the common denominator between them is that they both contain coconut in some kind of form, Cocos Nucifera Fruit Juice, a.k.a – coconut water. So Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer and Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer, show us what you’ve got…

In actual fact coconut water is pretty far down on the ingredients list for both, so it’s more trendy than anything else, but I really do love how both of these look and feel on the skin. Both don’t interfere with wear-time and just leave things looking fresh and whatever you apply over the top just looks a tad dewier. The Too Faced is silicone-free so sinks into the skin and feels more watery in texture, but the Marc Jacobs has that silicone base so provides more slip and smoothness to the skin. What I end up using depends on what I fancy on the day. Options, you know?

All this talk of coconut is making me hungry. Right – I’m off to locate some kind of sweet treat…
