The Ultimate Neutral Eyeshadow Palette? I Think So…

IMG_0639 IMG_0642 IMG_0644

It’s been a long time since a neutral eyeshadow palette made me go all weak at the knees and as swoony as the ZOEVA Nude Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette has. I mean – just look at it? It’s nude lid perfection with a mix of mattes and shimmers (none too glittery or chunky FYI), gorgeously warm and earthy tones that are right up my street and a creamy, opaque texture that makes other formulas look weak and meek when swatched next to them. 15 shades, £28.50 – it’s a good deal all round. Need more justification? Allow me…

ZOEVA are seriously up there when it comes to shadows that pack some serious pigment. They feel like cream when you dip your fingers in them, yet they glide on the skin with minimal, if any, fallout. Of course being so creamy they require some kind of primer underneath and if it’s a more subtle look you’re after, then dive in with a fluffier brush, but you’d struggle to find shadows as rich in colour and pigment as these, even from MAC. Bold statement I know – can you tell I’m in love?

Speaking of MAC, this palette is completely chock-a-block with dupes. The left colour on the top row is basically MAC All That Glitters and in the centre of the top row is a shade that’s a twin of MAC Sable. Other MAC dupes come in the form of the right shade in the third row which is comparable to Antiqued and on the right of the fourth row that’s a more pink-toned version of Woodwinked. There are also two colours that are dupes from the LORAC Pro Palette; the centre shade from the second row that’s like Sable and the left shade from the third row that’s like Mauve. There are also a few that look very similar to some from the Urban Decay Naked Palette (the OG is the best in my opinion); the left one in the second row is a slightly bronzier version of Half Baked, the centre colour from the third row is pretty spot-on with Toasted (fab colour!), the centre pan from the fifth row is practically Virgin and on the right of the fifth row there’s a shade that’s a perfect dupe for Naked. It’s basically the greatest hits of all my favourite eyeshadow palettes and singles. Amazing.

Right it’s time to get off the rave train now as I think that’s enough for today, but seriously this palette is bloomin’ awesome. Throw a primer on underneath and they last all day long. Great colours, great packaging, great texture. Yep, it’s definitely time to get off now..
