It’s not everyday I find a concealer that deserves a standalone rave round these parts. Sure there’s the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Estée Lauder Stay-in-Place Doublewear Concealer, plus a few others that swim around in my concealer stocks, but they’re not something I find myself purchasing a shedload of in the same fashion as foundations. They’re just not as exciting to me. It’s like the black vest top equivalent of makeup shopping – they’re necessary, you need them, but it’s just not a sexy purchase. Well today I have an unsexy purchase recommendation for you and it may just be one of the best concealers I’ve discovered all year…
Clarins Instant Concealer in 01 – a triple threat, quick-fixer that hides redness, banishes blemishes and brightens bags with one quick swoop of decent, yet delicate coverage. The texture is just so dreamy. It blends in softly, looking natural on the skin and balancing the whole slightly dewy, but still got coverage thang so perfectly. In fact on good skin days I’ve just being using a CC cream as a moisturiser (more on that another day) and smudging this under my eyes and around my nose to even everything out. Two other things to point out. Firstly – the texture is pretty watery, so although the dispensing set-up is the best way to house the product, things can still get a bit messy and secondly – this tube will last you yonks. You don’t need much and with 15ml’s of product in there, you won’t be needing to make another unsexy ‘black vest top’ purchase for a while.
