The New Faithfuls

IMG_7960

If I counted the combined amount of mentions for Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk, the Therapie Detox Bath Salts, Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo and the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel on this blog then we would easily get into three figures. Surely? You know my old faithfuls by now (and if you’re new round here, a look at my yearly favourite videos that rarely ever change will familiarise you with the products that I’ve always got in my stash) and though I try to keep things fresh there are always going to be products that I go back to again and again and again. That’s just the nature of the beauty beast. But today I thought I’d switch things up and show you my ‘new faithfuls‘; products that I’ve recently discovered (or rediscovered in some cases), that I can see entering the holy grail hall of cosmetics fame.

Ciate Beautiful Cuticles – £12 from Ciate. I’m rubbish at remembering to keep body parts other than my face moisturised and recently my cuticles have been calling out for some love, so this handy twist-up oil-filled pen has been residing on my bedside table and is now my final beauty step I partake in before I go to bed. It’s not too greasy, absorbs well and smells incredible. One to add to your cuticle care stash.

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser – £60 from Cult Beauty. Pricey, but one that’s worth the investment. It’s an exfoliating cleanser that’s full of the good stuff (click on the product name for an ingredients list that you’ll actually be able to make sense of). It’s a formula that leaves my skin feeling polished, not pummelled. I like to add a pump into my OSKIA Cleanser to give it a boost of sloughing power.

Essie As Good As Gone Clarifying Nail Polish Remover – £3.99 from Superdrug. It might seem a bit strange to get overexcited about a nail polish remover, but this is seriously the best one I’ve tried. It does the job efficiently and quickly and leaves not a scrap of polish on the nail without too much rubbing. It’s not the sexiest of purchases, but one that I’ll definitely be picking up again.

Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm – £16.70 from Escentual. I’ve got to admit that this one I love mainly due to the scent. It’s like old school hard boiled blackcurrant and liquorice sweets. YUM! It’s definitely thinner in texture than my other lip balms, so it’s not one I wear overnight, but more something I slick on during the day when I need a quick hit of nourishment. Also major points are won for the finger-free, squeezy packaging.

CHANEL Correcteur Perfection Long-Lasting Concealer in B10 – £27 from Selfridges. I love a good doe-foot, liquid concealer. They’re so easy just to stripe on bags, redness or blemishes and blend in with your fingers or a brush (more on that below) and this one from CHANEL might just be one of my favourites. Think a creamier, slightly higher coverage version of the NARS Creamy Concealer – yep, really – I’ll pop up a more in-depth musing on this ASAP.

MAC 188 Brush – £28 from Selfridges. I’ve had this brush for years, but it wasn’t until recently that I dusted it off, gave it a good wash and put it back into my cup of ‘daily brushes’ as I realised it was exactly what I was looking for when it came to blending in concealer. The duo-fibre set-up, means that it blends but it doesn’t really move the product so you’re still keeping that coverage exactly where you need it and getting that pro-finish. Luverly.

P.S) Apologies for the strange, heavily contrasted photo – I promise it looked good on my viewfinder *slaps wrist*. This is what I get for cobbling together posts at 6am in the morning, eh?
