Round Two: Spotted in Allure

Double Photo Test

Double Photo Test

My monthly pilgrimage to the Selfridges magazine section to pick up my copy of Allure seriously brought the goods this time. My favourite magazine with a Kate Moss cover?! I barely looked up the rest of the journey home. Moss musing aside, it’s a page turner as always and there’s plenty of new products I spied that have yet to make it to UK shores. So it’s time for another round of ‘Spotted in Allure‘…

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Pure Pigments 24hr Shadow – P.33. Pigments and me have a messy relationship (as documented not that long ago), but there’s a real lack of them out there. Barry M aside I’m struggling to think of any other brands that bring crushed-up, bold shadows to the highstreet. Well it looks like Maybelline might be filling that gap soon. Long-lasting and out in 12 shades; if the cream version of these are anything to go by then I’m excited. Downtown Brown has my name written all over it.

Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Moisturising Lip Balm – P.48-49. Maybelline has a lot of advertising space in Allure and yes I’ve fallen for it hook, line and sinker, but there’s another new launch which has tickled my fancy. I was never much of a fan of the original Baby Lips, but a pumped-up formula with a hit of colour? I’m kinda digging that. Strike a Rose and Oh! Orange! look particularly beautiful. Surprise, surprise.

Bite Beauty Lip Layers – P.50. I always spot Bite popping up on the US-based views and reads I peruse and it seems like a cool brand – a little quirky and with a lip-centric offering – a bit Lipstick Queen-esque. And these look so cool. No bigger than a standard size lipgloss, but housing two lipstick colours. Perfect for travelling, layering up or a midday change of shade.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Launch – P.60. Now when is this fashion-beauty hybrid coming over here!? I can’t say I’m particularly enthralled by the packaging, but beyond initial glances the colours are a nice palette ranging from glitzy and glam to nice and neutral and reviews online seem to be backing it as a range to watch. Oh I’m watching alright.

As as always I sign off this post with crossed fingers for two reasons. One that the aforementioned swim across to our shelves and two that Allure birth a UK edition. Please and thank you.
