On the Beach

Now I didn’t really think too far ahead when it came to the title of this post, because if I had really put my thinking cap on I would have realised that I don’t wear makeup to the beach. Ain’t nobody got time for that. I’m a hot sticky mess as it is without a layer of flesh coloured gunk on and with sunglasses and a hat covering up the majority of my face anyway I really don’t give two hoots. I just stick with the SPF. So really this FOTD is a post-beach makeup menu. The beauty bits that I’ve been reaching for over the past few evenings to oomph up the bronze and play up the glow. Think of this as my ‘Travel Makeup Bag’ video, but in action…

As I expected I’ve been reaching the most for Chantecaille’s Just Skin in Glow. It’s got enough coverage to hide the fact that I’ve consumed by bodyweight in sugar for each day I’ve been here, but isn’t too present and the colour match is spot-on right now. I’ve been keeping the rest of my face pretty bare actually with just a dab of Estée Lauder’s Doublewear Stay-in-Place Concealer in Extra Light under my eyes (though not too much as I’m well rested for once) and a swipe of the BECCA Bronzing Skin Perfector over the cheeks. I’m slowly realising that I’ve got a lot of love for liquid bronzers – expect a post soon. For brows I’ve been letting them run wild, with just a quick stroke of the NARS Pro-Prime Smudgeproof Eyeshadow Base and Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameleon in Bronzed Garnet for Green Eyes over my lids. I’d say the colour compliments my warmed up complexion pretty well and gives a nice twist on the usual holiday bronzes that I thought I’d be grabbing. Lashes are being coated with the Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara, which is by far the best mascara I’ve tried all year. Yep, it’s that good. Finally, I’ve been dabbing on a quick coat of the Dior Addict Lipstick in Model which is usually promptly removed by me chowing down on some kind of cheese and meat starter. It’s fair to say that the swimming costume is coming in pretty handy…
