New-in from Origins

Double Photo TestIt’s like buses; you wait for one Origins launch, then three come along at the same time. All extending on previous best-selling product lines, I’ve surveyed the latest skincare and one lone beauty serving and overall I’m impressed. And yes in true Origins fashion they all smell pretty awesome…

Origins Drink Up Hydrating Lip Balms* – £16 – launching June. Available in eight shades, these lip slicks are dosed-up with aloe vera, jojoba oil and apricot kernal oil to name just a few in the blend, but unfortunately they make up the most disappointing product of the trio. The colour isn’t punchy enough and they feel slightly gloopy once applied; competitors to my sheer lip loves, the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors - they are not. You know what I’d love to see? An overnight lip balm to couple up with the Drink Up Intensive Mask – now that I’d be all over.

Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll-On for Puffy Eyes* – £24 – launching June. Now this I’ve become a little addicted to. It follows the whole cooling rollerball that you stripe on under your eyes for a little ‘oooooh’ rule book. Popped in the fridge for extra deflation power, it’s become an essential for long laptop laden days. With aloe vera and cucumber extract it does what it says on the tin, but I still need more hydration on a daily basis so reserve this for daytime top-ups for super sore peepers.

Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Moisturiser* – £23 – available now at Origins. A moisturiser formula of their best-selling eye cream. They’ve toned down the illuminating properties for this face base formula and have skipped on the anti-aging technology to keep the price from blowing the budget too badly and the result is a good all-rounder for teen and twenty-something skin. The texture is sort of gel-like and reminds me of their Oil-Free Night-A-Mins (a product that I used till the last blob, a rarity) and with panax ginseng and caffeine it gives the skin a nice glow without the grease.

My pick of the bunch? The GinZing Moisturiser. Lightweight, fuss-free and like a blast of Berocca for your complexion.
