New-In Beauty Bits That I’ve Been Throwing On My Face

I like dropping in every now and again and showing you what’s new beauty-wise and is really darn good and well worth a purchase, so say hello to the most recent edit of products that have entered my daily rotation. You can see that I’m really having a glowy phase right now with my makeup as three out of the five items are geared towards amping up shine. I actually went to bed with a face so slathered with oil the other night that I practically slipped off the pillow. Hydration? Radiance? Illumination? I’m in…

For a gloop-free SPF… DIOR Dior Bronze Beautifying Protective Creme Sublime Glow SPF 50. There are so many SPF’s that I’m enjoying at the moment, but this is probably my favourite of them all. Not only is the scent a dreamy waft of holidays and beaches, the formula is designed to leave the skin looking glowy, whilst protecting it at the same time. I just feel like my skin looks so healthy after applying this and doesn’t need a primer or anything else after. Sometimes I just skip it all and head for concealer. Done.

For a no-glitter-zone glow.. NARS Illuminator in 413 BLKR. Named after the first NYC NARS store, the 413 BLKR range was previously a bit tough to get hold of in the UK, but is now available online or at the newly launched standalone store on King Street, Covent Garden. If you’re ever passing I highly recommend going in to get a swatch of this. I’ve never tried the illuminators before, but this one is fab. The texture is light and not greasy or thick at all and the colour is spot-on; a yellowy champagne that’s just like my favourite BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone. I like it stippled over the cheeks using a duo-fibre brush. It’s so subtle that even if you squeeze out a huge blob of product, you can still get away with throwing it all on. WIN.

For a multi-tasking golden hue... BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector Liquid in Champagne Pop. I mentioned my love for this product last week here, so I won’t ramble on too much again. However, this is a great multi-tasking, rose gold illuminator that I find works best as a mixer; either a smidge blended in with my foundation when I need warming-up and some glow, or with a body moisturiser to channel my inner J.Lo vibes. The latter is my favourite way to use it. Pop some on the décolletage and shoulders – beautiful.

For a touch of smoke… Bobbi Brown Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Velvet Plum. I do love a good purple-hued taupe. In fact, it’s the closest to colour that I’ll ever put on my lids, so this is my current ‘colourful‘ eye jam. Now the texture certainly isn’t the best here – it takes a combination of a brush and my fingers to make it look even – but the longevity is insane. It really does last yonks and even after hours and hours and hours the light shimmer and a touch of smokiness is still left behind.

For sky-high length… Isehan Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara. Now this isn’t new on the market, nor new to me, but I had to throw it in there because whenever I return to my tube of this stuff I always realise just how lovely it is and actually reckon that it’s my favourite mascara out there. As with all mascaras that I love it’s a complete beyatch to find in the UK, but it’s well worth the hunt for its lengthening, curling and separating tendencies. If it’s a natural and fluttery looking lash line that you’re after then start hunting now.
