Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Review

This review has been a long time in the making, I first purchased Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair around Christmas time and am now on the last drips of my bottle so I thought it was time to do a quick summary.

Advanced Night Repair is Estée Lauder’s star skincare product, I always hear so many people in the beauty industry recommending it, bloggers give it rave reviews and whenever I mention ANR I get a flurry of comments from people saying that their Mother’s have used it for years and have the skin of a 25 year old! So being a bit of a skincare junkie I naturally had to give it a go. There are many serums out there, each marketing themselves as a solution to a particular skincare woe, but ANR tries to cover most bases. The Chronolux technology helps to reduce the appearance of past damage, uneven skintone and gives immediate hydration. Enhanced environmental repair helps to defend the skin and creates an optimal environment for the skins renewal with the vital ingredient Hyaluronic Acid.

As a quick reference my skin is on the slightly oily side of normal, I’m not too prone to breakouts but do have a few red patches on my cheeks. I’ve tested this out for 4 months now and I have to say that I’m impressed! It’s always difficult to tell with skincare products which one is giving you the most results, but I have found this to work well with my rotation of products I have been using (see my skincare routine video for other products that I use). My skin has been less red, more radiant and I’ve the ANR to be seriously amazing for spots – I have been dousing spotty areas with this before bed and when I wake up in the morning they are dramatically reduced. I really love the feeling of this on my skin as well, serums feel so light but really nourishing at the same time, about 3-5 drops of this after toning in the evening does the job. It’s a caramel coloured gel/liquid hybrid with a slight stink to it, not what I was expecting at all, but don’t be put off as it massages so well into the skin and once it’s on the smell is gone. Drier skinned ladies may need to use a moisturiser after this, sometimes I follow it with the Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins Oil-Free Lotion* if my skin feels like it need some extra moisture or I mix it with the Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil* for an extra punch at weekends.

I purchased the 30ml bottle of this of it’s lasted me over 4 months, but next time I will be treating myself to the 50ml version as it works out much better value for money. The 30ml is £41 and the 50ml £54. So I guess that’s answered the question of whether I would repurchase, I would 100%! I think some of the allure is that I would love to be an 80 year old lady waxing lyrical about ANR to anyone who would listen as I’d been using it for 60 years! But I have seen improvements in my skin and it’s a part of my routine that I look forward to every evening. If you fancy the chance to win a bottle then head over to the Estée Lauder website for a chance to win a bottle of ANR! Why not! Has anyone else tried ANR? Love it, hate it? It would be useful to know if it works as well on different skin types!
