By Terry Aqualip Jelly Tint

Apologies for the day-old makeup here in the photo, I was scrambling around last night to put this post together so I do look slightly weather-beaten but hey! Either this week I attended a Space NK bloggers event, which I will be posting about this weekend, and was lucky enough to meet Terry de Gunzburg, the lady behind one of my favourite brands, By Terry! I did let out a tiny fangirl squeal but managed to hold it together (just) as she applied her latest lip release, Aqualip Jelly Tint* on me. Now I’m not one for bright lips, but this is just the right level for some everyday brightness.

This jelly lip tint provides a long-lasting wash of colour without feeling too heavy on the lips, think somewhere in between a gloss and a lipstick and boy are these long lasting! I swatched it on the back of my hand at the event and it stayed put for a good 2 days, Terry herself said it was strictly to be used on the lips only as the stain is too strong on the cheeks! It isn’t drying like other lip stains I’ve tried, you actually don’t even feel like you have anything on your lips it’s definitely one of those ‘put on and forget’ products. I like the doe-foot application, it’s really easy to use and allows you to apply the product evenly to your lips. Although it looks neon orange in the tube applied to the lips it goes a gorgeous berry pink; I’ve actually patted it in quite a bit in the photo but it can be built-up and has a similar tone to MAC Impassioned. I quite like the look of it with the By Terry Baume de Rose over the top for some extra gloss or layered under MAC Hue Lipstick to give my usual nude lip a touch more colour.

For the rest of my makeup, I have been experimenting with my base for once! I got the Laura Mercier Mineral Powder in Natural Beige at the weekend and although I wasn’t too keen on it as a foundation on it’s own it works perfectly with the Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation in 03 for a medium coverage look. My Boudoir Lashes*eyelash extensions are well on their way out although they have lasted almost 6 weeks now! I’ve been giving them and my natural lashes a bit of oomph with the Clinique High Impact Mascara. I think I’ll be going back for a top-up soon as I’m not sure I can bare to be without them now! I have been skipping the cheeks completely, but expect that to change for next week’s ‘My Makeup’ post as I treated myself to a new Laura Mercier blusher yesterday, watch this space…
