Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Review

This review has been a long time in the making, I first purchased Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair around Christmas time and am now on the last drips of my bottle so I thought it was time to do a quick summary.

Advanced Night Repair is Estée Lauder’s star skincare product, I always hear so many people in the beauty industry recommending it, bloggers give it rave reviews and whenever I mention ANR I get a flurry of comments from people saying that their Mother’s have used it for years and have the skin of a 25 year old! So being a bit of a skincare junkie I naturally had to give it a go. There are many serums out there, each marketing themselves as a solution to a particular skincare woe, but ANR tries to cover most bases. The Chronolux technology helps to reduce the appearance of past damage, uneven skintone and gives immediate hydration. Enhanced environmental repair helps to defend the skin and creates an optimal environment for the skins renewal with the vital ingredient Hyaluronic Acid.

As a quick reference my skin is on the slightly oily side of normal, I’m not too prone to breakouts but do have a few red patches on my cheeks. I’ve tested this out for 4 months now and I have to say that I’m impressed! It’s always difficult to tell with skincare products which one is giving you the most results, but I have found this to work well with my rotation of products I have been using (see my skincare routine video for other products that I use). My skin has been less red, more radiant and I’ve the ANR to be seriously amazing for spots – I have been dousing spotty areas with this before bed and when I wake up in the morning they are dramatically reduced. I really love the feeling of this on my skin as well, serums feel so light but really nourishing at the same time, about 3-5 drops of this after toning in the evening does the job. It’s a caramel coloured gel/liquid hybrid with a slight stink to it, not what I was expecting at all, but don’t be put off as it massages so well into the skin and once it’s on the smell is gone. Drier skinned ladies may need to use a moisturiser after this, sometimes I follow it with the Origins High Potency Night-a-Mins Oil-Free Lotion* if my skin feels like it need some extra moisture or I mix it with the Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil* for an extra punch at weekends.

I purchased the 30ml bottle of this of it’s lasted me over 4 months, but next time I will be treating myself to the 50ml version as it works out much better value for money. The 30ml is £41 and the 50ml £54. So I guess that’s answered the question of whether I would repurchase, I would 100%! I think some of the allure is that I would love to be an 80 year old lady waxing lyrical about ANR to anyone who would listen as I’d been using it for 60 years! But I have seen improvements in my skin and it’s a part of my routine that I look forward to every evening. If you fancy the chance to win a bottle then head over to the Estée Lauder website for a chance to win a bottle of ANR! Why not! Has anyone else tried ANR? Love it, hate it? It would be useful to know if it works as well on different skin types!

As you have raved about this quite a bit I think I’m going to give it a go! Sounds fab!

  • Gem11

Ooo, I think I’ll have to get some. I always thought it was for older women but obviously not.

I’ve been trying out a sample of this for the past two weeks now and it’s rather nice! I haven’t noticed any major changes except for reducing a few of my scars though.
I’m a little hesitant to fall in love with this and purchase the full size because I’m trying to buy only cruelty-free now (which is really hard)

Would love for you to review the origins night-a-mins! 🙂

  • Melaniebombelanie

I love it too although Estée Lauder lady told me you should use moisturiser after – I bought a 50ml from a CCO for £40.50.

  • Nagini

I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I think it’s breaking me out 🙁 I have acne prone skin.

I bought this upon your recommendation and have been loving it ever since. I got it as a part of a set for £41 so for people not familiar with EL skincare I recommend this as you get a few other bits and bobs to try too. I however will be re-purchasing (the larger bottle) this time around I love it. It feels like such a luxurious product to use and my skin is thanking me for it.

Ahhh I’ve been waiting for this review! I’m so tempted by this stuff as I’ve heard it’s amazing for acne scarring and I’m desperate to get rid of mine. Not sure I could afford £40 every 4 months though! x

  • Alexa

I used a whole bottle of ANR many years ago and really noticed very little difference. I may be convinced to try again in the future, but for the moment I am happy with the current serum I’m using xxx

  • Lilmisschickas

Absolutely love ANR!! My skin has improved dramatically since I started using it!! I use moisturiser after it and will defo be repurchasing it!!!

I’ve been on the lookout for a serum for ages as it’s the only thing lacking in my skincare routine. I’ve read numerous reviews of serums claiming to solve different skincare problems. ANR covers all bases and keeps cropping up time after time as a favourite – I don’t think I’ve seen a bad review yet! I’ve been seriously considering a purchase for a few weeks now and I think your input has removed any doubts… Estee Lauder, here I come! 🙂

You always seem to be reviewing the things of the moment, which is really good 🙂  I bought the xen-tan + clarions fake tan on your recommendations in your fake tan video, can’t wait for them to come!  + I really wanna try the ANR but its so expensive!  xxx

  • I’ve heard so much about this, seems like heaven in a bottle! Will definitely have to treat myself! xx

  • i am loving my advance night repair too! I can’t imagine life without it because it makes my skin feel so nice and soft i wished that i discovered this sooner 🙂
Thanks for sharing such an informative review on this~x

  • Sheila

yes, i’ve been using it since early March and saw an immediate difference in the hyperpigmentation I get from healing blemishes.  I would never be without it again.  And a tip – if you order it from debenhams during one of their 25%/bluecross sales you get 10% off so buying the larger one (as I did in march) is even better value 😉

  • Katia

I just finished a little sample I got in a EL gift bag and going this weekend to purchase the full size, I’ve never been happier with my skin, reduced my hyperpigmentation, reduced redness and reduced ALOT of my oilyness.

  • Ella

It’s sooooo expensive! But it seems like it’s worth the hype so I best start saving! xx

  • I used it some time ago and I really liked it! It feels great on the skin and the smell is delightful (for me it smells like honey!) but lately I’ve been advise not to use anti-wrinkles products if you are not in the age to do so…  I think this product is for more mature skins so I stopped using and changed to Kiehl’s midnight serum which I love now! x

  • Tonisinartra

Love love ANR, only started using it last mo th and can already see a difference in my skin! So worth the money xo

  • I would love to try this just can’t justify the money at the moment tho.Glad its working for you x

  • Michelle

I’ve got combination skin, which, since my early twenties has been prone to bad break outs. I switched to Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and I got given a sample size of ANR which I’ve now had for months and months. I don’t use it every night, but when I want a treat and it feels amazing. It makes my skin really soft, and unless I have a really late night and have been drinking, my skin is miles clearer than it used to be! The only thing putting me off is the price, but once my sample bottle is empty, I’m not sure I’d want to be without it. I’ve got the Advanced Night Repair Eye gel as well in sample size – have you tried that? x

  • Deniz

I really love it too, helps with dehydration too…

  • abeeaboo

if you are going on holiday/through an airport any time soon there is a travel exclusive 100ml bottle for £66ish. there’s also a travel exclusive 2x75ml pack for around £75 i think?

  • I really want some of this but I really don’t think I can afford it. maybe one day. x

I swear by ANR! I’ve been using it for the last month, and I suddenly noticed my that skin had had no breakouts recently and was glowing! It’s definitely the sort of product that you have a sudden “eureka” moment with! xxx

  • styt

I read good reviews on this sis uses it and I trust thtat it’s a good product, I might buy it this weekend actually because my skin is looking a bit dull =(

  • Clay Butterfleyes

This product sounds fabulous, will check their website out ! xx

  • claire

  • Indigo Byles

can you do a review on the benefit foundation you got soon!!?xxxxxx

  • Thanks for doing a review! I was hoping you would! I’ve heard so many wonderful things about this and definitely hope to give it a try soon! 🙂

  • I want to try this SO BAD but it’s so pricey. Ah, dilemma!
You have nearly convinced me to try it out!

    Lovely review!

  • WY

It seems like such a nice serum, am now trying a sample of Kiehl’s Corrective Serum. Would you say that the ANR would do any good for hyper-pigmentation spots? xx

  • LP

I won a sample size of this a while ago but never used it, I just started using it a few weeks ago every night and honestly I don’t see a difference in my skin. I don’t doubt that this doesn’t work; clearly a lot of people like yourself love it and have seen immense results, but I haven’t. Maybe its just because my skin is really dry? But it does feel really smooth and light on the skin!

  • JHC

I purchased ANR two weeks ago. At first I didn’t see anything dramatic, but after two weeks I am impressed. It has diminshed a very red mark on my cheek that I’ve had for over a year (a lasting gift from a disastrous facial). I find it works well at night if you put it on moistened skin. It absorbs the moisture and replumps the skin a treat. I bought the 75 ml, and will definitely be repurchasing.

  • Kassie lee

I’ve been looking for a night serum like this for a bit. I might just have to try this one out

  • Hayelycanning

I love this product it improved the overall quality of my skin, check out my review

  • heeterlyn

Wow, I was skeptical at first, very expensive. I’m not usually a compulsive shopper, but having read the reviews, I thought I’d try. This stuff is amazing. In 4 days I can see a slight reduction in redness and acne scarring. (I’m 52) My skin is so oily it shines, but non the less, this ANR serum is quickly absorbed into my face. My skin is soft and feels hydrated instead of oily.

Just got 50 mls at Leeds airport for £50 love
It…. Tried sample first an seen a difference
    In a week

  • Dr. Tikki

ANR is wonderful! There are so many products that make extreme claims but this is one that works and is worth the money. I received it as a sample that came along with the perfume my husband brought. I have been using the ANR for about 3 weeks and I saw a difference after four days!!! I have a sunspot on my face that is very dark and it has almost faded. The main result was the texture of my skin from being sunburned was leathery. This has revitalized and restored my skin back to normal. I love this stuff and I would purchase it if it was double the price. IT WORKS! To make it even a bigger deal Estee Lauder refunds your money if you are not satisfied. If you want better, brighter, smoother, even skin, don’t think about it as a purchase, look at it as an investment into your older years for healthy and younger looking skin.
