Bobbi Brown Nectar & Nude: The Best Bits

This collection has been lavished with a hella’ load of love in recent weeks from the blogging world and I have to say that after giving the Bobbi Brown Nectar and Nude Collection a good and proper road test, it’s all deserved. It’s a well-rounded range with high quality formulas as always and a colour palette that is sure to please everyone. However as with a line-up that large there are some loves and leaves. Personally, though the six-strong Nectar & Nude Eye Pallete compact is pretty, I think they’ve released better selections of shades in the past and the Nail Polishes I could live without thanks to my already bursting drawer of colour, but I do think I’ve found two gems in Bobbi’s newest release…

Unsurprisingly they both fall into the nectar half of the collection – but I do love me some peach. If I had to pick one of my favourite lip glosses ever then the limited edition Laura Mercier Lip Glacé in Orange Tulip would be pretty high up there and if you’re in the market for a similar shade that you can actually get your hands on these days, then the Bobbi Brown Lip Gloss in Nectar is your guy. Perhaps a little pinker, but the colour is there and though the texture is somewhat stickier than the Laura Mercier I’ll let it slide because the slight tack makes it hang around. Secondly I’ve got to address the Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Hibiscus. What. A. Beauty. Not too pink, not too orange – just perfect. I’d dub this formula the entry level cream blush; easy to use and blend, the colour goes on dewy and sheer, but can be built up to some full-whack peachy cheek goodness. Dab on with fingers and get to work on the fleshy bit of your chops.

Bobbi you had me at ‘Nectar’ and then you add the ‘Nude’? Babe.
