5 New YouTube Channels That I Can’t Stop Watching

IMG_2036

It may sound bizarre but I never turn my TV on. Ok well, that’s stretching the truth a bit. I do turn it on to watch The Great British Bake Off when that’s on and when I go home my Mum always has a few things saved on the V+ box for me because she still doesn’t understand the world of internet TV players. She’s currently badgering me to watch the Gary Barlow documentary that prompted my Dad to send me a text simply saying, ‘OMG, Mum is crying so much’. YouTube on the other hand – I watch that  erry’day. I do love delving in to the content creators world and seeing what’s new and although the channels I’m giving a nod to below aren’t brand-spanking new ones, they’ve gained a new subscriber in me. So this weekend I thought I’d share my recent finds that have had me stuck to my screen. Be prepared to loose an hour or two here…

1. Claire Marshall. Claire is one seriously cool cat (I know, saying that automatically makes me one seriously uncool cat – but we all knew that already). If you want beauty videos without the B.S then this is the place to go. The editing is ridiculously on point too, with tracks that will have you tapping your foot along and transitions that will have you googling Final Cut Pro how-tos. She just seems like a hoot (I really need to stop with the Grandma adjectives).

2. Sharon Farrell. My new go-to for makeup tutorials. Sharon has everything covered from celeb looks to tips, tricks, TAGS – the lot. There’s something for everyone here really and being a trained MUA she really knows her stuff. She talks while I listen and make lists, that’s how it works. One to get your notepad out when watching.

3. Tar Mar. Babe. Alert. Tara is my newest find of the five, but I’ve literally spent the last few days gorging on her videos. She posts a mix of hauls, favourites, vlogs and lifestyle videos but I think my favourites have to be her fashion ones. Her style is on point. Her ‘Four Days in Outfits’ is my favourite – I want them all.

4. LEAF. Slick, chic lifestyle content that looks good enough to eat – and most of it is. Think Pinterest, but in video form. Their recipes are always tasty, yet not too challenging and the fashion content makes me want to break out of my monochrome zone, which takes a lot. Oh and their interior videos? Drools. Don’t even get me started on their ‘1 Closet, 3 Ways’ video.

5. What’s Up Elle. Fine. I’ll admit it. I’ve watched all of Elle’s videos. All 88 of them. She’s the kind of girl that you just want to be mates with. We’d chat about our shared love for Rihanna, we’d laugh and then she’d teach me lots of cool stuff about Final Cut Pro because she is an absolute whizz in the editing suite. It’s not my usual product-packed viewing – Elle’s thing is more snappy, funny skits – but if you’re in need of editing inspiration then this is the place to come. Oh and if you want to watch all of her videos, it will take you till lunchtime…
