When Clarins Release Two New Shades of Your Favourite Gloss… WIN

IMG_0200

Though I wouldn’t say that I’m a huge gloss lover, I find myself wearing it on most of my makeup wearing days. Bizarre, right? I reckon this is down to it being a low maintenance lip option. Glosses help keep things moisturised and hydrated, whilst making it look like I’ve made an effort when I secretly have spent about two minutes throwing just a handful of items at my face (but more on that tomorrow). I love a matte lip and boy do I love them even more when it’s a bold shade, but sometimes I can’t be bothered with the faff. Sure the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick and NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil formulas hang around for a decent amount of time, but if I know I’m going somewhere with food and will probably spend half the evening looking like I’ve put lip liner on and forgotten to apply the lipstick as the bad boy of a burger that I’m going to chow down on will just wear it away, then I reach for a Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector. Easy peasy and a solid choice that I’ve loved for years.

Originally there were just three colours in the line and these were expanded on a few years back with another three. Previously I’d always loved 2, a pale peach, but it’s 5 which is more of a rosy pink, that I reach for multiple times a week these days. Until now however, because Clarins have just done a wonderful thing and released another two colours *cue Hallelujah music*. Say hello to 7 – Toffee Pink and 8 – Plum Shimmer. I’m excited for these two because they’re shades that haven’t really been represented in the range before. 7 is pandering to the whole brown/pink lip trend and is the one that will go into my daily makeup bag, along with 5 and 8 is actually pretty pigmented and is the one I wore over the Christmas holidays for some festive flavour. Just like their predecessors they are a non-sticky gloss with lip balm properties. Ain’t nothing not to like here.

If you’ve never tried these before then now is the time people! I’ve got even non-makeup wearers into them. If you’re a friend or family member of mine then you’ve got one in your handbag. They’re practically a beauty junkie’s rite of passage.
