What’s In My Small Bag?

IMG_8823

So you know in my Handbag Collection video where I said I was really happy with all my bags and that I didn’t think I’d be adding to my bag family anytime soon? Well... say hello to the Aspinal of London Mini Shoulder Bucket Bag. Yeah. This has filled my seriously tiny,’ barely need to take anything out with me at all’ weekend bag void that I may have just made up in my head. Seeing as it’s on the small side I’m sure this ‘What’s In My Bag’ will be a very long and lengthy post. Nawt. But in all seriousness, the Bucket Bag is a lovely addition to my wardrobe that has gorgeous gold detailing (score!), a good amount of space inside for exactly what you need to take with you and a zipped compartment for your money and phone which puts my ‘had my purse stolen many times’ mind to rest. Now onto the contents…

Though I can squish my purse into this bag with a bit of huffing and puffing I prefer to let my cards and cash run free in the back zipped pocket along with my phone. Safety first people. Then there’s a little pocket on the outer side which I like to stuff with more non-exciting, but essential handbag must-haves – namely: my Oyster card, keys and headphones so I can listen to Celine Dion really loudly on the tube and try just to sing in my head and not out loud.

On to more exciting handbag additions… sunglasses. I’ve become a bit of a sunglasses fiend in recent weeks, so I take a look at them all, see what I’m fancying for the day ahead and then pop a pair into my sack. Today it was the Whistles Faye D-Frame Sunglasses that I was feeling. These are a little funkier than the others I’ve got so I always feel that I’m playing someone that’s ‘cool‘ when I wear these. Lame, but true. In terms of beauty I keep it simple. I’m not one for touch-ups or checking a mirror every 10 minutes to see if everything is still in place, 99.9% of the time it’s not and I really don’t give two hoots. If I’m wearing a bold lipstick then I do tend to carry that around, but if not then I just pop in a balm. I love the Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment because not only is it a nice balm, but you don’t have to stick your fingers in anything. Then I usually have a rollerball perfume on me too because if I haven’t already mentioned I’m a bit of a sweaty betty and after getting hot and bothered on a tube ride, a touch of the Elizabeth & James Nirvana White EDP doesn’t go a miss.

If there’s space I do like to slip in my usual tissues/wrapped with a hair band/holding a sheet of Neurofen trick because they always come in handy. Yeah I’m that stranger who offers you a tissue when you’ve sneezed, but that’s it. Bag packed! And the best bit it that it’s as light as a feather. Finally, my spine and shoulders can rejoice.
