Unspoken Beauty: Take Two

We’re among friends here, right? No one easily grossed out? Fab, because today we’re going to get into the nitty gritty side of things – the unspoken beauty if you will. I’ve touched in this before here and it’s bizarrely one of my most read posts of all time, so I thought I’d revisit the topic seeing as I’ve added a few new ‘not so sexy’ essentials to my routine. Bikini line maintenance? Sweat protection? Fresh smelling feet? No worries, I’ve got it sorted

It’s not the pits. News alert – I’ve found a new deodorant. It’s the Dove Soft Feel 48h Anti-Perspirant in the Warm Powder scent. You know I love a good roll-on (they seem to be the only method that keeps my sweat production levels in check these days) and though I shower every morning so I’ve yet to test the 48 hour claims, I can say that you can most definitely get a 12+ hours of wear from it without getting a whiff of a weird perfume/perspiration concoction that you sometimes get with less powerful formulas. The soft feel technology which features 1/4 of Dove’s Moisturising Cream formula means that it leaves your pits feeling silky smooth and it gets additional plus points for being nice and small so it’s easy to throw in your weekend/gym bag. There’s also a spray version of this deodorant available if that’s more your kind of thing.

Ingrown hairs are OUT. I’ve mentioned before that waxing just ain’t my thing. I struggle to make it to the threaders for eyebrow taming on the reg, despite the fact that those hairs occupy my face, so when it comes to fuzz on the rest of my body it’s fair to say that it gets neglected. Nice. The only problem with shaving those sensitive areas are ingrown hairs, a.k.a – THE DEVIL. Thankfully the Shaveworks The Cool Fix soothes irritation, those pesky red bumps and itchiness (hooray!) and means you can shave whatever parts of your body your wish to in peace without spending the next day like Baloo from The Jungle Book.

Happy Hygienic feet? I can admit that my feet don’t get the TLC they deserve during the winter, but now the warmer weather is here it’s time to step it up and this handy little tub of tootsie loving goodness has come to the rescue. It’s called the Margaret Dabbs Foot Hygiene Cream and containing a mix of Emu Oil for its skin renewal properties and Tea Tree Oil for its antibacterial qualities, it’s helping keep things fresh, and let me tell you it gives instant relief to blistered toes after cracking out your new sandals for the first time.

Travel Friendly Trimming. The Venus Snap Razor may just be the cutest bathroom tool of all time. Small enough to lob in your bag for travel, but cute enough that you can use it everyday, I may have gone a bit wild when these were on offer recently in Boots. With the same strength of blades as their larger counterparts, the only thing to get used to is the little rubber disc handle which I actually think works better than the standard ones. And the mini plastic container it’s stored in? Adorable.
