The Workout Gear Lowdown

Activewear

Let’s talk about one of my favourite topics other than The Office/Parks & Recreation trivia and Ryan Gosling GIFS – workout gear. I probably spend a good 70% of my time in some form of lycra these days. Not only is activewear ridiculously comfortable it also fool’s everyone into thinking you are always on your way to/from the gym. HA! If only they knew that you popped on your leggings just to run errands, eh? In all fairness though I do feel like I do my errands faster? Is that enough of a justification? Today I thought I’d give you a rundown of my favourite places to stock up, sorted into various levels of spendyness…

THE BUDGET: In terms of high-street gym gear finds, I’ve purchased some solid pieces from both H&M and New Look. I like the fact that they both mix things up pretty frequently so if you browse online or head into store there’s always something new to peruse. I personally love the H&M vest tops and leggings and head to New Look for their outerwear bits that are great for throwing on another layer to don to-and-from the gym.

THE HIGH-END: You guys know I’m a huge fan of Fashercise. They are a stockist for some fab brands, but I’d point you in the direction of Varley, Olympia Activewear and also the new Zanna X Sports Philosophy Collection – you know the one that I mentioned in my Weekly Vlog? The latter is also stocked on Active In Style which is another place where I constantly stalk the the new-in page. I’m currently pondering my first Lorna Jane purchase – any recommendations? I also love Lululemon, which you’ve probably guessed by my many mentions of the Align Pants, which now come in a navy colour. Oh hello! If you’re scarce on the leggings front and are a semi-nudist then you need a pair of Align Pants in your life.

THE ‘I’VE JUST WON THE LOTTERY’ CATEGORY: Now I’ve yet to make a purchase from either of these websites; one – because I’ve yet to win the lottery and two – the shipping to the UK is a bit hard to stomach, but just incase any of you have won the lottery I thought I’d give them a mention. Outdoor Voices offers comfortable, simple workout wear that I would quite honestly wear 24/7, let alone for just getting sweaty in. It looks too nice to get sweaty in! Thankfully the leggings I want are always out of stock, which to my bank balance is definitely a good thing. The other place that I enjoy perusing is Bandier. They have a huge range of leisurewear that again is too stunning just to wear to the gym. It’s the Tone It Up X Bandier collaboration that is currently sitting in my imaginary shopping bag. Emphasis on the ‘imaginary’… kinda.
