The Weekend Post #13: My Basket

‘My Basket’ is a new addition to my beauty-things storage. It houses all my everyday bath, body and hair bits making things really easy to reach for and change around with the rest of my stocks if I fancy something a little different. The basket itself was a bargain purchase from Sainsburys of all places, but for this Weekend Post I thought I would share with you its volumising, smoothing and bronzing contents.

The majority of bits in my basket concern hair, which is strange as it’s easily the part of my beauty routine that I get least excited about. There’s also an unsaid rule that if it doesn’t contain the word ‘volumising’ in the title then it ain’t allowed in! To wash my hair I’ve been using a combination of the Ojon Volume Advance Shampoo* and Conditioner* and the Phyto Volumising Shampoo – I use the Ojon if I’m feeling fancy and the Phyto if I need to gve my hair a bit more of a deeper clense. To style my hair everyday I use the Ojon Volume Advance Volumising Styling Spray* which gives a nice amount of subtle volume or the Osis Dust It Mattifying Powder* if I’m going all out and want some super height to my hair. My dry shampoo of choice is the Ojon Rub-Out Dry Cleansing Spray* which I have spoken about many times before – greasy mop be gone! And after all of this use of mattifying and dry products I add a bit of life back into my locks with the Morrocan Oil*. I put one squirt of this through the ends of my hair after every wash when my hair is still wet and I have a feeling it will last me bloomin’ ages! See I wasn’t lying about the ‘volumising’ rule!

Taking care of the skin on my body and giving it as much attention as I give to my face, is something that I have been doing since Christmas. Yep, I have actually stuck to one of my New Year’s resolutions! I use the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil in the bath as a shower gel and add a few caps to my bath to make it moisturising and milky. When I get out it’s a toss up between whether I use the L’Occitane Almond Body Oil or the Kiehls Creme de Corps* lotion. I find the Kiehls to be slightly more richer, so use that when my limbs are extra dry. My feet require some extra attention so I use the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand and Foot Balm, which smells of oranges and makes my feet feel amazing. A bit random, but my deodorant of choice is the Mitchum 48hr one in Shower Fresh, been using this stuff for years now and I think it does the job!

Finally something which I love the result of but hate actually doing – tanning. Oh my, isn’t it such a chore! I’ve been tring out a new one recently, the Sienna X Dark Tanning Lotion, but I really haven’t got on with it. It doesn’t last on the skin and wears awfully around the inside of he elbows. So I had to scrub it off and start again with my all-time favourite the Xen-Tan Dark Lotn Absolute Luxe*. Will I ever stop going on about that stuff? No, because it really is the bees knees when it comes to fake tan!

So introduction to my basket over! Even just writing this post is making me want to have a pamper sesh now! So do you have a similar set up, or do you like to mix it up more than me? Right now I’m off and you now know exactly what I’ll be up to!
