The US Face

It’s almost time for me to pack up my new purchases and holiday wardrobe of which I have worn about one third of (always the way), and head back home. But I’m always ready for a beauty ramble and for the past few days I’m been testing out my newest beauty bits that I’ve picked up in the great ol’ US which of course deserves it’s own post…

You may know that I’ve declared a bit of a cease with foundations and instead tend to be picking up more tinted moisturisers. Loads of you had suggested that I take a look at Josie Maran products when I visited Sephora and I’m so pleased you did; there is just something about the brand that I instantly loved. So I picked up the Argan Tinted Moisturiser SPF30 in Butter, amongst a few other things, and I have to say I really like it. It’s a moisturiser, tint and SPF all in one and feels more nourishing on the skin than anything else that I own but it leaves a nice glow to the face which is always a plus in my books. For concealer I’ve been using the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer in 20 Light Pale. It doesn’t offer as much coverage as the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection one which I’ve been using recently but it still manages to do the job. On my cheeks I’ve been dusting a small amount of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess all over – think NARS Laguna but a little more golden, perfect for holidays. I’ve gone a little mad for eyebrows over the past few weeks and along with the Laura Mercier Eye Brow Pencil in Warm Brunette, I’ve added a slick of the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Espresso over the top to keep them in place. This stuff rocks, I’ve been using it on days when I can’t be bothered to define them with pencil too just to add a touch of colour – love it! For eyes I’ve been persisting with the Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Mascara, I still don’t think it’s as great as my L’Oreal Telescopic but it does add a nice amount of definition and curl to my lashes and if I’ve fancied a little colour on the lids I’ve been blending the Maybelline 24hr Colour Tattoo in Bad To The Bronze above and below the lash line. Then finally on the lips I’ve been keeping it simple with a dash of the Revlon Colourburst Lipstick in Soft Nude lightly dabbed in. Such a gorgeous nudey shade without being too corpse-like and it’s a bargain too!

Right now it’s time for me to fit all of this into my suitcase without going over my luggage allowance. One may predict that a little may be finding it’s way into my Dad’s and Boyfriend’s bags! Any new purchases that you’ve been trying out this week?
