The Repurchases

It’s fair to say that my beauty stash is ever expanding. I’ve lost count of the number of body moisturisers I own (please tell me I’m not the only one who has a hefty body butter supply!?), my foundation stores grow by the day and I have more than enough nail polish to open up a well-stocked nail salon. It’s fair to say I have enough beauty stuffs around me to last me a good few years or build a small bungalow if needed. So when a repurchase is made, it’s a big deal. I sneaked into Space NK the other day to pick up two essential items that I had recently used right to the depths of the tub, time for a repurchase.

The first culprit was the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Natural Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm. Long name, amazing product, amazing smell. So amazing in fact, I would put it up there in my top five products that I’ve discovered this year. I remove my makeup, then apply this to my dry face, massage in then remove with a warm cloth or flannel and wowza – it’s one of the best beauty moments of each day. This leaves my face clean, soft and cleansed. Tick, tick, tick – I’m not sure I’ll ever be without it. The other product is one that I’m on my third repurchase of – By Terry’s Baume de Rose, winner of the most overpriced, but oh so nice, lipbalm in the world. When I first purchased this I didn’t get the hype. It was nice, but it didn’t dazzle me. I pushed it aside until my lips decided to pretend to be the Sahara desert and in a moment of desperation I threw it on again – problem solved and since then it’s been love.

Now neither of these are purse-friendly purchases – the Emma Hardie £34 and By Terry *cough* £35 *cough*, the price of which has most definitely risen since I bought my first tub of stuff two years ago. In fact I ran into Space NK, grabbed both, then proceeded to close my eyes until they were purchased and I was one foot out of the door. But both hell’a worth it in my eyes, and lets just say I’ll be eating Sainsburys Basics Baked Beans for dinner until next year. A bulk of beauty buys in exchange for baked beans? I’ll take it.
