The Primer It’s Worth Shipping In From The US…

IMG_9331

How I like my primers these days are with a big ol’ dose of moisture and with a texture that allows me to eek out a few hours extra of wear-time out of my base. There are a few that satisfy this need like the Make Up For Ever Hydrating Primer and Laura Mercier’s Hydrating Primer, but in a recent Sephora order (I know – somebody stop me!) I came across one that is well worth shipping over the Atlantic. You know I’m having a bit of a U.S. beauty gal moment on YouTube right now and it was Nicole Guerriero‘s use of this product that made my ears prick up. It’s called the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer and with promises to plump up your complexion to that that mimics a good night’s sleep and with not a silicone in sight, I came, I saw, I purchased and I’m dead chuffed I did. Side note: I’m not too keen on silicone-heavy primers as they can make things feel all slippery and I don’t like my cheeks feeling like a freshly caught fish.

Anyway... this stuff brings glow. Like tonnes of it and after you’ve slapped it on your chops it will seem like a shame to hide it away with any else on top. The formula feels like a mix between a highlighter and a moisturiser and is rich on the skin without leaving any grease behind. Foundation loves the stuff and I find that with a bit of my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk on top, things are dewier for longer and more skin-like for the whole day until I want to remove it. It’s in a pump – WIN! – smells nice and fresh and I think I’ve reached my rave quota for the day, so I’ll leave that one there.

The only bummer is that it’s not part of the UK’s Too Faced line-up, from what I can see from some googling – but let me tell you this is well worth hauling over from Sephora. Well worth it.
