The LOOK Beauty Event

Although I love my fast-paced, instant gratification online social media – I will always have a special place in my heart for a good ol’ magazine. My favourite monthly is Elle, and my favourite weekly has to be a toss up between Grazia and LOOK. So when I heard that LOOK are releasing a Beauty range into Superdrug stores across the country, to say I was excited was an understatement. I saw that a few people had picked some bits in up from their first counter which opened in the Stratford City Westfields a few weeks back now, the range looked great – nifty packaging, nice colours and there was an absolute shedload of it! So when I was invited to the bloggers launch, I was v.excited….
The event itself took place in the rather swanky ‘The Arch Hotel’ in the heart of London (it had that expensive smell wafting around the rooms) and the place was loaded with goodies from the LOOK Beauty range. Look at all of it! From foundations to highlighters, eyeshadows to liners, lipsticks to double lip and gloss wand thingys, they have it covered 😉 A few products that really stood out were the ridiculously large range of Standout Eyes Single Eyeshadows and Nail Pops (there are 32 shades of each respectively), the Flawless Fix BB Cream Foundation (you know I am a sucker for a good foundation), and the Loud Lips Lipstick (I NEED to get my hands on Tangerine Cream)! The packaging is also gorge and some items are even beautifully decorated with a Ashley Isham designed print. One of the best bits about these fancy shin-digs is that I get to hang out with some pretty cool people….

Seriously how cool are these ladies? I feel so lucky that I get to hang out with such amazing bloggers ‘in-real-life’! These are all ladies whose blogs I keep up to date with on a regular basis, so sometimes I do have little ‘fan-girl’ moments when I meet them – how embarrassing 🙂 When we left, we were greeted with a rather awesome goodie-bag that had been put together, and personalised for each of us by the lovely Zoe – a fellow blogger turned PR girl, who definitely deserves a shout-out! She knows me so well, check out these neutral hued delights she picked out for me….
Early favourites are the Nail Pop’s in Flamingo* and Sequin Effect* – having a bit of a thing with glitter at the moment (but more on that to come….), and the Double Hit Lip in Rose Riot*. Although these whole lipstick on one end and lipgloss on the other can sometimes look a little ‘novelty’ – the colour of this is perfect for an everyday pink lip and I love the packaging – *handbag essential alert*. I also have a sneaking suspicion that the goodie-bag contained a dupe for MAC’s Candy Yum Yum lipstick (keep an eye out for a post on that)! One of the best things about this range is it’s reasonable pricing – it sits amongst the higher-end scale for the drugstore, but the formulas seem far superior to other brands. At £5 for a Nail Pop, and £7 for a Loud Lips Lipstick, it ain’t gonna break the bank. Plus, donations from the sales of the LOOK Beauty range will be going to Look Good…Feel Better, which is the beauty industry’s charity, formed 17 years ago to help ladies combat the visible side-effects of their cancer treatment. How nice is that?!? Have you ladies seen the LOOK Beauty range Ket? keep checking their Facebook Page, they always keep it updated with where new counters are opening – will you be checking it out?
Much Love,
Vivianna x
