The Future’s Orange

Oh well hello there clichéd post title. I just couldn’t help myself. But by the powers of deduction, cheesy title and the picture above you’ve no doubt concluded that there’s a theme running through today’s edit. Orange. Yep I’ve combed through my drawers for the best of the block colour that looks good on everyone. Ready for your lips, tips and cheeks to be tangoed?

Rococo Nail Apparel in O.T.T* – £12 – from Look Fantastic. I do a love a good orange on the nails, and I can’t fault this one. A straight-up shade that layers on well, has an above average chip-free wear and looks nice and shinny on finish. In particular I find this shade to look awesome on the toes.

Essie Nail Polish in Fear or Desire – £9.95 – from Look Fantastic. Who remembers this one from the year before last? I sported it with turquoise rings all summer long and it’s one of those shades I just don’t forget. More tangerine-y that O.T.T, it’s a three-coater, but for the finished result I reckon it’s worth it.

Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera* – £23 – from Space NK. Now this isn’t strictly a full-on orange, but common’ – you’d knew I’d squeeze some kind of red-tinged orange in there somewhere didn’t you? Peruse a full rave on it here, but next in my orange lip crusade is MAC’s Neon Orange. Oh yeah, it’s gonna happen.

Maybelline Coloursensational Pop Stick in Citrus Slice – £7.19 from Boots. A quick search for these on the Internet leads to an article deeming these the ‘Worst Product Ever‘, but this little tube of tinted (at best) lip balm has become a bit of a guilty pleasure. It deposits no colour to the lips, is extremely pricey for its lack in function and has the most artificial of candy sweet scents, but I sorta like it, *inhales tube deeply, and groans*.

Stila Convertible Colour Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in Gladiola – £16 – from Beauty Bay. Why did it take me so long to get this shade? As a lover of the shade Gerbera, it wasn’t until recently that I branched out to their more orangey offering (it’s been on my mind since Meg spoke about it). More subtle than the other colour than I have, it’s one of those cheek products that works best when you snub all others. A blurred out peachy hue on your apples, perfect.
