Bookmark these five places for maximum chicness and minimal scrolling
It’s a well known fact that autumn shopping is the best. The chill comes in quick and it’s like an automatic switch flips in us that pumps excitement around our veins for knitwear, coats and boots exclusively. The switch flipped for me earlier in the month (see my autumn capsule wardrobe re-jig HERE), and I’m guessing that the vast majority of fellow northern hemisphere folk are in the same boat and are making their way down the amber-leaf lined river too. I’ve already done my seasonal top-up (video HERE), but if you are in need of something new or just some inspiration of what to add to your second-hand wishlist then this post is going to be just the ticket. Here I’ve collated together my top five places to shop for autumn style and my edit for each, taking in a bit of everything from classic coats, to chunky knits and winter wedding guest options to *THE* pair of leather trousers to buy. SHOP FOR: Premium knitwear, evergreen coats and leather clothing.
I think I could easily write a dissertation about why the & Other Stories* autumn range is my favourite range of all. Every year I feel like they are never going to be able to beat the last one and each time they completely SMASH IT. To me this year is all about the knitwear. It’s premium in feel and quality and the price-tag extremely reasonable. Highlights include this rusty-toned Cotton Blend Sweater*, their Wool Blend Cardigan* – my favourite cardigan from the highstreet and this Oversized Fuzzy Wool Blend Sweater* that comes in four different colours. The coat selection is lush as always and this time it’s the Oversized Belted Wool Coat in Black* that I feel is the best of their selection. My top pick of all though comes from their leather section, which is great if you’re looking for trousers, jackets or skirts. The Leather Kick Flare Trousers*, aren’t as flared as they sound (they are definitely more of a straight leg) and are lined too, so make for a very comfortable trouser.

SHOP FOR: Scandi shapes and designs and oversized silhouettes.
Arket* are a newer find for me, but they do such a brilliant range of affordable basics and designs that are a little different to what you usually find on the high-street. The colour palette is pretty neutral which is fab news for those like me, and they offer a good amount of information on their website on the background of where items are made. Their shoe collection is better than most and these Leather Ankle Boots in Dark Brown* are pretty much spot-on dupes for the much pricer GANNI pair that I own. Their basics are great like I said; you could wear this Lyocell Boiler Suit* pretty much all year round and this Long-Sleeved T-Shirt in Light Brown* in such a staple. My favourite part of their current offering though? The cashmere loungewear*. It’s so reasonably priced and looks way more expensive than it actually is.

KITRI
SHOP FOR: Winter wedding outfits, standout jewel-colour pieces and great playsuits.
The Kitri* selection is a little more colourful that what I’d usually go for, but I love the idea of adding some fun into your autumn/winter capsule from this brand. They do BRILLIANT jumpsuits for both formal and casual wear, but my favourite is the Bianca Utility Jumpsuit*; I’m such a sucker for contrast-stitching. And I love the Eleonora Cream Vinyl Trousers*, which are a bit weird and wonderful, but would work so well in a wardrobe that’s full of classics just to jazz things up a bit. If I was going to a winter wedding this year, then I’d be tempted to pick up the Fiona Absinthe Midi Dress*, which I like to believe was named after Princess Fiona from Shrek (please let this be the case). But the true winner here is the Paloma Leopard Print Faux Leather Puffa Jacket*, which I’ve been messaged about so much that if I had a penny for every DM I received, I’d be able to buy one.

SHOP FOR: A neutral palette, full of basics with a twist.
A current blogger’s fave; this brand has been in my sights for years for the fact that it was started by one of my favourite fashion bloggers Elin Kling, who wrapped up her site a few years back now to solely concentrate on her brand. It’s certainly the most expensive pick here and I’ve yet to make a purchase myself yet (although I’m always searching on Vestiaire Collective* for second-hand pieces!), but it’s on my wishlist nevertheless. I mean, just LOOK AT THE STUFF! If I was to win the lottery tomorrow the Pisa Trench Coat* and the Annecy Wool/Cashmere Blend Coat* would be mine (I’ve lusted after the latter for about three years now, since I saw Emily Weiss wearing it). Although it’s the more affordably priced denim that I could see realistically making it into my wardrobe. Their offering tends to focus on a slim-straight leg which is great for A/W as you don’t want a breeze making it’s way up your thigh. The Mid-Rise Straight Leg Jeans* and the Original High-Rise Straight-Leg Jeans*, both look like solid picks.

SÉZANE
SHOP FOR: Cosy knitwear, simple shirts and classic coats
I’ve ordered a few things off Sézane* over the years, but it’s always the autumn/winter collection that sings to me the most. The chunky knits in particular are a fave. Although the website isn’t exactly the cleanest site to surf, persist (or just select from my edit below) as they have a knack for bringing feminine touches to their collection without things getting too cutesy, which I’m here for. Knit-wise I’m loving the classic look of the Chuck Jumper* and how they styled it with a simple blue wash jean, although of course the leopard-print Octave Jumper* caught my eye too. The James Coat* is my top pick from their current range; available in four different colours and very similar to my Whistles pea coat that I wear ALL THE TIME. The Florence Shirt* looks like the ‘boy style’ that I have, but with a pyjama style collar – SWOON. The perfect pairing for any straight leg denim.
