Shopping The Stash

‘Shopping the stash’, is a phrase first coined by Laura, formally of Lollipop26Writes, now of Buy Now, Blog Later acclaim. It is an expression used to describe the act of digging around in your dusty makeup drawers and (hopefully) finding some long-lost gems. With no time, nor money to do any massively extravagant hauls of late, I have had a little rummage in my collection and I thought I would show you what I have found!

MAC Melba Blusher
This is buy far my favourite blusher from MAC ever! It’s something that every now and again I lose sight of, but the minute that it finds it’s way onto my cheeks I am instantly back in love. A matte peachy pink, that just looks so natural on my skintone and gives a warm beachy glow. I was actually wearing it in my ‘Camera Love‘ post if you want to see it in action.
MAC 2N Lipglass
I do not need to tell you guys again that I’m not a lipgloss girl. In fact I only own one of their infamous MAC Liglasses, which is this one, called 2N that I picked up in a collection that was released at the beginning of last year. I still fricking hate the formula (so sticky and thick – yak), but the colour is a beaut! Pretty much MAC Shy Girl in lipgloss form, so I am enjoying using it up.
Make Up Forever Smokey Lash
When the original formula of this mascara did the round in the beauty community, I quickly snapped up the waterproof version (I only wear waterproof mascaras as they hold a curl in my eyelash better). But when I first opened it up, I was greeted by a thick, gloopy mess that made my eyelashes look horrendous! However, after a few months it has dried out slightly and now I love to layer it over my L’oreal Telescopic Waterproof mascara to give my lashes some serious oomph!
MAC Face + Body Foundation in 3N
This foundation is the PERFECT lazy day base. It’s fantastic for good skin/light coverage foundation days! I like the face that it has a slight sheen to it as it gives you a nice radiant glow, without looking too greasy. I have the shade 3N, which is definitely a summer shade for me, but as it is quite sheer it adds a nice amount of colour without looking too over the top! Love it!

MaxFactor Earth Spirit Eyeshadow in Inca Bronze
I won’t talk too much about this product as I actually use it in an upcoming Everyday Makeup ‘Milly Mackintosh inspired’ look (that I’m in the process of editing as I held the mirror in front of my face therefore blocking the camera for most of it – doh!). But this is a pretty bronzey gold, not too yellow, not too red just very natural, that is so easy to wack on your eyes and be done with – simple!

So there you go, some gems that have been brought to light, rediscovered and used constantly over the past week or so! Have you ‘shopped your stash’ recently 😉
