Who remembers my last experience with sheet masks? For those who missed that post it featured a mask that wouldn’t look out of place in a horror movie, an unexpected FaceTime call from my parents and lots of screaming. I concluded that it wasn’t something I’d be racing to test out again. Then Indeed Labs, the makers behind Hydraluron, come out with their take on the pre-soaked towelettes and well I just had to give ’em a go.
They’ve christened them the Hydaluron Boosting Masks after their serum sister. Containing a big whack of Hyaluronic Acid, these sheets are soaked in a liquid concoction that claims to hydrate for 24 hours after removal. Now I’m not sure about that, but things did feel considerably more nourished the morning after I threw this on. Think Hydaluron, but in a concentrated, elongated dose. For those not accustomed to sheet mask way, they are thin sheets soaked in liquid that come delivered in a sachet. You open, place on your face, try to negotiate it into place without getting it in your mouth/eyes (an impossible task), leave for 10 minutes then remove and massage in the excess that’s left on the skin. The process is the same as any other sheet mask I’ve given a go, but one thing I did find with this is that things weren’t too tacky afterwards. Previously, with other options, I’ve had to fully rinse my face after and just proceed with my normal routine, but with this I just let all the juices soak in. Nice. The only downside is the price tag – at £19.99 for four from Boots, they come in at just under a fiver per go making it an item I’d reserve for application the night before special occasions only. However I have spotted them on a 1/3rd off deal recently. Run Forest, run.
When donning them I still look like a cast member of a horror movie, but for a peachy looking complexion come the morn? I’ll take it.
