Peachy Lips: Take Two

IMG_9374 IMG_9305

I’m firmly back in the furores of peachy pink lip love. The other day when I was on the tube and quickly whipped out NARS’ Satin Lip Pencil in Torres Del Paine (sadly limited edition I think) from my bag and roughly drew its soft orangey rose over my lips without the need for a mirror it solidified. It’s just such an easy colour to pull off, apply and there’s no ‘has this smudged all the way down to my chin and up to my nose?’ stress. I spoke just two weeks ago about some of my favourite shades, but since then there’s been more added into the mix that I just needed to share. I know – I work fast

Firstly let’s discuss the lip liner that matches up perfectly with them all that was purchased due to Sandra’s recommendation (we are finally meeting for the first time later this week and I’m SO EXCITED!). It’s the Marc Jacobs (P)outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in Honey(Bun). It’s long-wearing, creamy and though extremely matte looks amazing worn all over the lip. My favourite lipstick to pair it with is MAC’s Flamingo, another new purchase and the duo I’m wearing above. This is like a neon pink mixed with peach (the picuture doesn’t really do it justice) and being a lustre is has a very sheer finish so needs to be reapplied all the darn time, but you’re compensated with an extremely juicy-looking, summer-appropriate lip. You win some, you loose some.

A shade that’s a truer peachy pink with a big orange tone running through it is the Estée Lauder Pure Colour Envy Lipstick in Melon (not pictured above unfortunately). I was handed this as a gift with purchase when buying another Estée Lauder product and though I initially squirmed at the description of ‘shimmer finish‘ it’s frosted in the lightest of ways so the outcome is more like a MAC lustre than anything else. Definitely one to have a swatch of.

The final one I’ve been enjoying throwing on is the Bobbi Brown Sheer Lip Colour in Sunset Pink, which I think is part of their newest drop of products. Though it’s sheer in its texture – a very shiny, slippy formula – it is not sheer at all in colour. In fact it’s one of the most opaque of the lot. The shade is such a universally flattering one too, it’s a salmon pink which makes you look all fresh even when you’re feeling rough after a Netflix marathon. Peachy pinks to the rescue!
