My Current Skincare Routine

IMG_9394

Filming skincare routine videos used to be a twice yearly thing. I was always changing it up, trying new products and wasn’t really loyal to too many things in the skincare division. Now I’m on my sixth repurchase of some items and I haven’t really changed things up for months, so instead of boring you with a video showing you a routine that you probably already know and have pieced together yourselves from various pictures and raves I’ve posted here and there, I thought I’d bore you with a post instead…

As with all skincare-related matters I feel like I need to set the scene first, so here we go. My skin is kinda normal-ish, with some dryness around the eyes, forehead and brows and some oiliness around my nose. I tend to get spotty if I don’t take my makeup off, start slacking with my routine or I’m stressed and hormonal. I can get a little red and sensitive, which is why I’m now fiercely loyal when it comes to this routine and when I’m having a bad skin day it’s a radiance-based issue where I just look grey. Nice.

In the morning the first thing I apply and muslin off is the OSKIA Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I’m getting nervous that my current bottle is running out, so I just purchased a back-up, which I think is about my sixth one of the stuff. Then I spray on the Tata Harper Hydrating Floral Essence before dotting and smoothing the Estee Lauder Revitalising Supreme Eye Balm on (heads up: the this one of the only eye creams that I’ve ever gone and repurchased – it’s that good!). For serum I’ve gone back to my trusty Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair – in the morning, I know! Such a rule breaker. Then depending on if I’m working from home all day or I’m out and about, I use just one or a mix of the Sarah Chapman Skinesis Morning Facial, Estee Lauder’s Revitalising Supreme CC Creme and their DayWear SPF50.

For the evening I go for pretty much the same routine, but instead begin with the Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover. I get asked all the time what I use to remove waterproof mascara and ladies and gents – this is THE ONE. Again, something that I’ve repurchased multiple times and whatever ‘dupes’ I try, they’re never as good as this. I follow the same cleanse, spray, eye cream and serum routine and then at the end I massage a pump of the Tata Harper Reparative Moisturiser all over which feels so rich, but not in a greasy way. It sounds long-winded, but I use the opportunity to catch-up with my YouTube viewing and with tooth brushing added in, it takes around 8 minutes. Not gonna lie – I’ve timed it.

Extras that I haven’t pictured above include the Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask and the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask, which I chop and change between, the Skyn Iceland Hydro Cool Firming Eye Gels which are incredible when you’re feeling all puffy and the MV Organics Rose Plus Booster which is just the best darn oil I’ve ever tried and is the one I pull out when I’m feeling really dry and/or sensitive.

So, you fallen asleep yet? Go on, take a nap. It’s Sunday.
