Paint, Purchases & Polish

FiveThings

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1. Dulux Pure Brilliant White Matte Paint. Now this might seem a little bit of a strange thing to mention, but for the sake of ease and speediness we’re currently slapping this stuff on every single wall of the new place and it’s great. It was suggested by the DIY Goddess/Interiors Extraordinaire that is Kate, who said it was like ‘highlighter for your walls’ and she could not have been more right.

2. YSL’s Creamy Bronzer That Stays in Place. Creamy bronzers can sometimes get a little sweaty and slippy on me, but not the YSL Les Sahariennes Sun-Kissed Blur Perfector in 4, oh no! This stuff is more of a cream-to-powder product that glides onto the skin, leaving a healthy warmth behind. A great lazy day makeup companion.

3. Some Fab Budget Brushes. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been doing a bit of digging in the aisles of Boots and Superdrug and have found some absolute cracking affordable brushes that perform just as good as their high-end counterparts. Expect to see my finds in a post coming up next week.

4. Maybelline’s Fab Little Polishes. I’d sort of forgotten about these, but the Maybelline Superstar Forever Strong Nail Polishes are awesome. I picked up the colours Hot Salsa and Sea Sky the other week and have since been debating what one to apply first. What do you reckon?

5. Drop the Base. I really, really want to try the Cover FX Custom Cover Drops because I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. It’s an opaque, high-pigment formula that you can mix into foundations, moisturisers, concealers – whatever – to oomph up the coverage. There are a tonne of shades and I’m struggling to find mine, anyone with a similar skintone care to share what they got matched up to?
