Hand Food & Heel Genius

I for one love a body-part specific, nourishing injecting, rich cream to slather on as a finishing touch before bed. It’s on those luxe little steps that elevates you from just slapping on some moisturiser to a pampering goddess and I tell you if I had a penny for every time I’d caught the boy massaging in this hand cream while he thought I wasn’t looking I’d have very heavy pockets indeed – a pampering goddess in the making, who knew? Soap & Glory Hand Food and Soap & Glory Heel Genius have been treating my hands and feet exclusively for the past few months and given their purse friendly credentials and permanent status in my stash it was about time they popped up in a ‘Budget Buy‘…

I’m sure Hand Food needs no introduction, a deskside staple for many this fruity fragranced cream for your mitts does the job perfectly well without being too greasy, sticky or slippery hand slicking. I keep one in my bathroom to encourage myself to remember to slather it on after handwashing and one in my bag for on the go. Oh yes, and there’s one on my bed-side too. It’s fair to say I’m pretty pimped out with Hand Food. Heel Genius is the lesser famous of the two but probably the one I get most in an excited flap about – yep that’s me, getting in a whizz over a foot cream. It’s chocker with kick-ass ingredients: glycerin, macadamia oil and fruit acid smoothers similar to the AHA’s in Alpha H Liquid Gold, the combination of which makes for some seriously silky heels, trust me. I get to work in the bath with the Tweezerman Foot File, then pile this on, slip into some socks (Primark Feet Heaters are rocking my sock drawer at the moment) and lie back and let it get to work. Bring on those summer sandals.

The best bit? You can grab both items for less than this categories slapped on £10 limit with a travel sized Hand Food taking you back £2.50 and Heel Genius, £5.50 from Boots. Bargain – your mitts and tootsies can thank me later…

      • sarirah

It’s a pretty amazing multi-purpose product in my opinion. Works for all areas of dry skin. I’m on my second tube. :p

I love Soap & Glory Clean on Me and Face Soap in superfruit plum. These are the only ones I’ve tried and really like them. Now, I will definitely try the Soap & Glory Heel Genius and Hand Food!!! Thanks for the review and sharing it with us!!! 🙂

    • No worries love! 🙂

  • Millie

  • Leonie Sara

Heel Genius is always a must in my beauty cupboard!!
As for hand food, I have always wanted to try but just can’t bring myself to turn my back on my current favourite the Crabtree & Evelyn Hand Therapy :/

    • Oooo never given that a go! Is it any good? 🙂

  • I wish I liked Hand Food – I was SO excited to buy this as they do not stock Soap & Glory where I live and getting a little tube of this was a highlight of my London trip, but to me, it’s completely rubbish.

Semi-slippery, feels like it has weird gritty bits in it (that disappear after a bit), moisturizes for about a minute and that god-awful smell.. it reminds me of cheap bathroom fresheners. Like putting AirWick on your hands. I really am bummed about this, I wanted to love it so bad, but I just can’t wait until I’m done with this tube. The only thing I like is the packaging and the “ooohhwhatisthis?” when I take it out of my bag 🙁

    • Ah no – that’s such a shame! Perhaps try and imagine it as a strawberry milkshake scent to get the airwick fragrance out of your head 😉

  • Maddy Cane

These both sound lovely, I am a big fan of SandG products, and in the winter months you need really nourishing things like this! xxx

    • You do indeed! 🙂

  • Denise F.

I love Hand Food. I ended up with two of them, first the large one because it was the only one I found in Boots Bangkok. And then a day later I found the smaller one in another Boots lol so of course I bought that too. I don’t remember the mark-up, but I wish I decided to buy Heel Genius then too, because now I’m in the US and it costs $15. It doesn’t come in a smaller size like Hand Food, right? The thought of spending $15 on foot cream of all things isn’t very appetizing haha, I just made do with good ‘ol Neutrogena. I love winter weather, but definitely not what it does to my poor feet.

I’ve been using these 2 little beauts for years and can hands up say I’m addicted. Non-greasy, nice pleasant smell that doesn’t leave you cursing greasy fingerprints or sticky hands for the next half hour and of course leaves your hands & feet oh so soft! I used this stuff constantly whilst doing my art printmaking degree, my hands were constantly in and out of water all day and being cleaned with horrible stripping soap cleaners, this stuff was my saviour. Their Clean Girls and Clean On Me shower body washes are pretty awesome too for a silky soft wash.

  • definitely the best budget creams x

  • I can’t wait to use Soap & Glory Hand Food!

  • Sophie

Heel Genius never gets enough credit – it’s AMAZING stuff.

  • Ginny Goh

You’ve make me wanna try the Hand Food!
