Glossy Lips

You ladies know I am a self-proclaimed Lipstick whore 😉 But every now and again I do slip over to the glossier side of proceedings. I am sure it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the colleague that I sit opposite at work is constantly topping up her gloss (what can I say, I am easily influenced), but this past few weeks have seen a lipgloss be thrown into the depths of my makeup bag. My favs?
Revlon, NARS, Clinique
Yep and they are all pinky nudes! Well what did you expect 😉 The first one is by Revlon and is one that I got over a year ago now and by the laws of lipglosses should smell as skanky as the bottom of your shoe – however 16 months later and it’s still going strong! It’s their Super Lusturous formula in the shade Pink Pop and gives my lips a hint of rosey glow, which actually makes a nice change for once. The second one is from NARS – the king of lipglosses – in their infamous shade Turkish Delight (link). It’s supposedly soon to be divorcée (oh I do love a bit of gossip), Kim Kardashian’s favourite shade! Now yes, compared to the pleasant smelling Revlon offering, this does have a distinctive pong about it but the colour is a beaut. A muted down baby pink that is great for layering or wearing on it’s own. My final favourite is from Clinique and was a freebie in Glamour a few months back now. It’s their Superbalm Moisturising Gloss in the shade Raspberry (link). Now I can’t say it’s as moisturising as my HG gloss, Clarins Natural Lip Perfector in 02, but – I do love the colour of this for the upcoming winter months.
Right I’m off to go slather some gloss on 😉 There are quite a few lip products that I have been loving at the moment, so keep an eye out for reviews of those on my blog! I am thinking of doing a FAQ post soon so let me know if you have any questions bottled up and I will pop up a post soon where you can submit any questions you have 🙂 Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
Much Love,
Vivianna x

  • I love that Clinique Raspberry shade, its fantastic, my all time favourite gloss! I also love that gloss in the shade ‘Current’!

    • Oooo will have to check that out xx

  • Pandora

Ah, so I’m not the only one to find that NARS lipglosses kind of stink! I’ve tried both the lip gloss and the lip lacquer pots from NARS and I”ve found that they ‘turn’ quite quickly. Shame…. the Turkish Delight one looks tempting.

Absolutely love your blog by the way and congrats on winning at the Cosmo awards!

    • No the NARS one smells awful, but the colour is great! And thank you 🙂 xx

  • GeorgiaLouiseN

I love Clinique lip glosses, they are so moisturising 🙂 Just wondering if you know where I can get Nars lip glosses if I live in London?

    • Loads of places 🙂 Space NK, Selfridges, Libertys all the big places! xx

  • I would love a NARS gloss but they’re a tad too pricey :S xx

    • Yeah they are pretty expensive xx

I really want NAR’s Turkish Delight! Hoping to get it soon!

  • Leanne Woodfull

You should try Barry M glosses, especially the toffee one – delish!

    • ooooo yes I always look at them but forget to pick one up – will get one next time I see them! xx

I’m more into gloss than lipstick, purely because my lips are so dry, that on me, glosses just look better. These are 3 gooorgeous shades! xx

Hiya! Do u find your Clinique abit sticky?? I brought a new Clinique Gloss today – Long last glowwsear but it just seems really thick and sticky!! Grrr xxx

    • No I find it quite smooth actually 🙂 xx

  • i love revlon pink pop too 🙂 i havent gotten any nars lipgloss…only because of the price point and, like you mentioned, the smell! i really love the texture of their glosses and colors so i think eventually i will still end up getting a few shades (like striptease!)

    • Oh yes I have always liked the look of striptease too 🙂 xx

  • zoe.12

love the look of the nars one!

  • I hardly ever wear lipgoss so I might give them a whirl now. Turkish Delight looks gorgeous.. I feel a splurge coming on 😉 xxx

i do like lipgloss, as long as it isnt uber shiney or i think it looks a bit crazy and i only ever wear it when i put my hair up i hate when you hair sticks and then pulls it across your face eurghhh 😀 xx

    • Haha yeah I hate that too! xx

  • I think you should start with Girlies and Andrew xD

  • NARS Turkish Delight is one of my favorites! I’ve heard really good things about their super orgasm shade too!

    • Oh yes, I have never tried that shade before! x

  • lauren alice

In blind panic last night I found myself running into Selfridges to pick up Turkish Delight after you said it might be discontinued! The assistant assured me they would “never do such a thing” but I hastily bought two just in case… Madness!!!

    • Haha no they would never discontinue that shade! xx

  • Nikolina(:

I really love lipsticks but sometimes I tend to go lipgloss mad for a change! I’ve never tried NARS lipsglosses before since most of the reviews online go on and on about their horrible smell but I might try one someday! Great post(:

    • Oh yes, horrid smell but lovely glosses xx

  • Anna Elisabeth Vaher

Lancome Color Fever is great! Really creamy, yet shiny and not sticky at all. 🙂

    • Oh thanks for the recommendation xx

  • Kaleighwilliams

I would say that i am definatly a lipstick girl, but I am in love with Benefits Ultra Shine in ‘Spiked Punch’ really beautiful colour and doesn’t have that nasty sticky gunky feeling most have.

I have a new blog which will be updated with reviews very soon…

    • Thanks for the recommendation xx

  • Kaleigh

Sorry my blog address was posted incorrectly…

  • I always feel that Turkish Delight is to pale on me, and washes me out. =[

    • Maybe try it over a lipstick? xx

  • Joely Marsh

Turkish Delight is my absolute favourite lipgloss! It looks gorgeous over Creme D’Nude or Shy Girl 🙂 The Revlon one looks gorgeous too, but they don’t sell it in my local Boots 🙁

    • Oh no, if you can ever find the Revlon one I highly recommend it! xx
