Filming with Fleur & New Makeup Storage

Five Things

It’s time to bundle together the best of beauty, fashion and everything in between from the past seven days. Edited down to five of the top products, videos, posts, releases and the rest that have had me clicking away:

1. Makeup Swapping with Fleur de Force. Did you spot this yesterday? A little cheeky bonus video that I filmed back when I was at VidCon with the lovely Fleur. We did a $20 Makeup Swap and then a $100 Style Swap which went up on her channel and I think we both did pretty well. Was fun to shop for and fun to film – plus, I’m well chuffed that I got to keep that outfit she picked out for me.

2. New Makeup Storage. Big news. I’ve ordered some new makeup storage. It’s yet to arrive, but it’s on its way and I’m more excited about its arrival than any other piece of more ‘practical’ furniture that should also be arriving soon. I spotted this set of Vincent & Barn Apothecary Drawers yonks ago in Stylist magazine, took a screenshot and prayed it would still be in stock by the time I came round to being able to get it. Ah man. I’m excited.

3. Give Me Some Sugar. I’ve still yet to share my US purchases (it’s coming next week as an epic two-parter), but one of my favourites has to be the Fresh Brown Sugar Perfume. I think because I first smelt it back on a family holiday a fair few years ago now, so it conjures up fond memories but it’s nice and sweet in a non-sickly way and fresh at the same time. One of my favourite summer scents.

4. Yes, Yes – Another Contour Kit. It seems that contouring is going down the ‘BB, CC, ZZ…zzzz‘ route of turning people off, but as someone with a rather large, round face it’s still a step that I do every now and again and especially when filming. I recently got my hands on the Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette and after seeing the raves, I have high hopes. I’ll report back soon.

5. Another Kat Von D Thing… Last week on Temptalia I spotted her swatches of a new shade of the Everlasting Liquid LipstickDouble Dare – and it looks lush. It’s like a parred-back matte peach and it’s got my name written all over it. Sephora.com here I come…
