Fake Tan: The Two I Go Back To Every Time

IMG_8647

I know I can sound like a bit of a broken record when it comes to fake tanning – ‘I’m really into it right now’, ‘I haven’t fake tanned for months‘, ‘I just love the Xen Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe‘ – I get it. So I’m going to keep it short and sweet with this one, but I thought I’d just drop in to say that the aforementioned Xen-Tan product is no longer top dog. Want to check outside your window and make sure that pigs aren’t soaring through the sky? It’s officially been replaced by the St Tropez Express Tan. There are a few reasons for this switch-a-roo, but the main one is that the St Tropez is just a speedier process and I no longer have to go to bed feeling like a marinated chicken breast. It doesn’t last as long, but only by a day or so, and you do have to watch out for the breakdown of the product on some areas, but the super quick application is the deal breaker for me. The mousse formula rubs in easily streak-free and then I leave it on for three hours or so before rinsing it off and heading to bed. However, if I’m feeling really rebellious and want a slightly deeper tan I’ll put it on before bed and wash it off in the morning. So naughty.

Because we’re still in those in-between days weather-wise, sometimes I don’t want to tan everything and just need a bit of amping up on my limbs and for those occasions I go for the Vita Liberata Capture The Light in Latte Light, which is a wash-off tanner/body makeup hybrid that leaves things with a J.Lo like glow. You can’t feel it on the skin and it doesn’t stain your hands. If it came in industrial sized bottles I’d be first in line. That’s the only downside – it’s pricey and I go through bottles of this as quickly as I do with tomato ketchup, but hey – you feel like J.Lo when you wear it. You can’t win ’em all…
