Carry-On Beauty

IMG_8226

Today I find myself hopping on a plane from Paris and heading down to the south coast of France for a few long-awaited and very rare days in the sun. It’s by no means a long journey – I doubt I’ll even get a cover to cover read of Allure in – but seeing as we’re planning to hit the beach the minute we step off the plane I’m bringing a few more beauty bits than normal in my carry-on so I can lob it into my bag as we head to the seaside without even having to unzip my suitcase. Forward thinking you see. So before we dash to the airport I thought I’d open up my clear case to show you what made the carry-on cut this time round:

The transparent pouch that homes it all is from MUJI and though it’s deemed the correct size for airplane travel, security will usually make you pop all your liquids into one of the provided plastic bags. This usually causes me to faff around for about 10 minutes extra – getting through security in a speedy manner is not my speciality. In terms of miscellaneous, slightly boring items I’m lugging along the Optrex Eyedew Dazzling Eyes Eye Drops, some Boots Ear Plugs, a MUJI Mirror and the Anastasia Brow Wiz in Soft Brown, simply for the spoolie end.

More exciting products include the Stella McCartney Stella EDP Rollerball which will hopefully disguise the fug that surrounds me every time I travel. Then there’s the Clinique Repairwear Intensive Lip Treatment and the Omorovizca Queen of Hungary Mist to up the appropriate hydration levels. But for when I’m actually at the beach of course I’m dosing up on the SPF; namely the Zelens Daily Defence SPF 30 for my face and the Nivea Sun Kids Pocket Size SPF 50 for my body and limbs. Finally, just incase I decide to take a dip I’m bringing along the Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Primer to keep my locks smooth and not too sea-scrunched come dinnertime this evening.

Throw in a copy of Allure, headphones and some music from the ’90’s and I’m ready for la plage.

P.S) I woke-up to a Twitter feed chocker-block of notifications that Vivianna Does Makeup had been voted as the Best Beauty Blog at the Bloglovin’ Awards and I could not be more over the moon. A massive thank you to everyone who voted for my little slice of the internet. Seriously, thank you! Everyday when I set down to work on VDM feels a bit dreamy and it’s all thanks to your loyal support, comments and spreading the word and I could not be more grateful. You lot ROCK!
