All About Brows

When it comes to brows I’ve experienced it all. From a full-on ‘Is that a girl or Wolverine?’ overgrown monobrow to an over plucked one brow hair breadth pair of them. I’ll spare you the visuals, but you catch my drift. It’s a classic case of ‘hairy girl meets tweezers’, but luckily I’d like to think (touch wood) that I’ve come out the other side. It’s taken years and it still takes a hefty-ish sweep of a brow pencil to make things look normal but I’ve reached a happy place with my still bushy, but much more groomed than they used to be brows so I why not share my tips and tricks that I’ve picked up along the way, eh? Let’s just say that it begins with ‘T’ and ends in ‘hreading’. This one goes out to all the fellow Wolverine gals out there. I feel ya…

I have over plucked my eyebrows as well and now they are quite thin and sparse. Even though I stopped the bad habit years ago, they haven’t grown back. 🙁 I’m tempted to try that RapidBrow serum that Boots sell. Do you know if it works? X

  • Love this video! It must have taken me close to a year to regrow mine after some serious overplucking and waxing – I definitely used to get tweezer happy! They’re now in a far better shape and are much easier to manage as well.

  • Lucy

I love this, I have such a constant mare with my eyebrows so it’s great to know that there is hope for the future! xx

  • My brows used to be so thin, its embarrasing to look back on
    now! Great video 🙂

  • You’ve definitely had some questionable brows but hey, at least they look amazing now! x

  • Brows are the bane of my life! Xx

  • I love your honesty in this video, it’s so refreshing! I have large but see-through-ish eyebrows, I don’t know why, so I have to do some serious filling in to stop them looking so grey! I once shaved half of one eyebrow completely off when I was 12 because my mum hid her tweezers from me… oh dear…

  • I love how you showed pictures from before! Thanks for being so brave and honest 🙂 Your brows look amazing now!

  • I had the monobrow problem and the overplucking one too, but I’ve never come that far with it luckily. Now I periodically put my brows in the hands of a lovely Benefit girl that does them exactly how I want them, thick but with shape! Loved the video! xx

  • Over plucking was always my problem, they have just about grown out now. It’s only taken 3 years!!

  • I used to over pluck as well, and I haven’t even got big brows to begin with! Now I only pluck a little bit, and I’m friends with my eyebrows again, haha. Your eyebrows right now are perfect though!

I have never plucked because it hurts too much!

I LOVED watching this video! We can all relate!

  • I feel ya too, girl. I had gotten my brows to the point where I liked them, and then got nail-scissor-happy all up on the front of just one of my brows – currently waiting for it to grow out as it looks very lopsided!

Never happy with my brows, I think everyone takes years to get them right!

  • Loved this! I use the darker shade of an Anatasia shadow to fill in my brows at the front, but they are already quite bushy and full. Luckily my mom always told me to never pluck my eyebrows so I never had a overplucking related fiasco! I have the tweezerman tweezers as well – I just recently got them and before i was using just any old tweezer I found at the drugstore but you’re right, Tweezerman really makes a difference! Get my brows threaded or waxed every month or two months – Yikes – but my hairs grow very fast so I like to do tiny tweezing touch up sessions every 3 or 4 days as well. xx

  • You were not alone, I over-plucked my brows when I was younger and it’s been taking foreverrrrr to grow them back.

  • Love a good full brow! the BEST look.

  • Angela Sandez

Amazing video and your brows looks really good. Loved your half eyebrow look.

  • I do the same! I pluck newly grown hairs in between my threading sessions lol X

  • Manouk

  • You have thick eyebrows which is a good thing even if it is high maintenance. Threading is the best way to go for any pair of brows!- Vinita

  • I used to pluck them thin so they had a big bit at the front and were resembling triangles – WHY ?! this had to be the vid I used to introduce my mum to your channel, she was crying out ‘why didn’t her mum tell her not to ?!’ mums ey (but she does like your vids)

Very creative video and I love your brows. Mine are a good shape (I am told) but are so sparse, i just fill in and probably pluck about 3 hairs a month if I feel like it. I have never had them professionally done; cannot risk losing a precious hair I couldn’t afford to lose LOL.

  • Sabrinna Baglio

this was such a great video omg. i feel like every girl feels the need to pluck her eyebrows to the max but it looks so terrible! im glad the natural full brow is in because its so much prettier!

  • Haha this video was the best, thanks for sharing your brow journey! Thankfully I can say I’ve always embraced my inner Wolverine and never got too tweezer-happy! x

  • Your brows look amazing! We’ve all been there an over plucked, I’m happy to embrace my inner wolverine now!

  • Ellie

Ahaha this is so hilarous! But thanks Anna for sharing your experiences!

  • Oh brows…I started filling mine in probably 8 months ago, and it honestly is the biggest difference of my makeup routine. If nothing else, I do brows.

  • rano

you look gorge, thanks for sharing <3

  • Brows are definitely the most time consuming portion of my daily makeup routine, but makes all of the difference in my final look. I also really credit threading with keeping my brows maintained and shapely without the risk of mishaps that waxing presents. Great post!

  • I feel so guilty, but I found myself cracking up at your eighteen year old brows. You definitely have been on a roller coaster, but I’m glad you shared this because I’ve been debating how to tend to my brows for awhile now.

  • Kate Martin

Thanks for sharing your experience Anna!

  • Gaby Zickar

Oh man, I feel you! I’ve recently looked back at some photos and it makes me cringe…how did I think my brows looked awesome like that?! Haha.

  • Emily Knott

My time hop app on my phone revealed a very browless picture of me yesterday. It was pretty bad! Incredible how much of a difference brows can make!

  • Hattie Constance

When I was younger I had the most awful monobrow, looking back at photos still makes me cringe!

  • Great video! My brows are bad, I’m not brave enough to pluck them myself so they’re just a mess.

  • My boyfriend and me were talking about brows a while back and going through the photos of me at school, dear god I was ashamed. There wasn’t even a shape or a brow to put it that way; so lucky the grew to a relatively acceptable shape in time for my prom! Now I leave it to the threading after that nightmare. Do have serious brow envy of yours though!

  • Great video and post as usual x

  • Fun video, Anna! It’s always a bit cringe-worthy to look back at past brows, but they’re definitely lessons learned 😉 Have a wonderful weekend! xo

  • Claudia

instead of razor, have you tried little scissors? 🙂

  • I’ve just bought the Hourglass pencil in dark brunette online and I’m a little worried it might be too dark… fingers crossed!

  • Anna

Great Video! I like to use a matte lip balm stick to set my brows, doesn’t feel crispy, gives just the right amount of definition and leaves brows and skin soft and hydrated! Give it a try 😉

  • I liked the video, Anna! Thanks for sharing your journey. You have such lovely brows!

Lovely brows, wish i had your kind of brows.

  • Meike

    I didn’t know u got freckles o: I got them too….. Love u and ur videos 🙂 greetings from germany! <3

  • Marian

Do love threading! Here in Canada you can get it done in an indian salon for 4-5$ which is less than £3. 17 sounds soooo expensive! Anyways, they look perfect, brow envy for sure!

  • Davina

Oh gosh I never discovered tweezers til about age 14, so they were just a bushy mess! I love threading too but can’t find a good salon! £17 is quite expensive but if they do a good job it’s worth it! x

  • Loved the video! It really helped to know that there may still be hope for my crazy, bushy eyebrows and that I’m not the only one who has trouble with them!

  • Love this!
