A Brush-Free Application

Brushes are out, fingers are in. Recently for me the tables have turned, my Buffing Brush has been uncharacteristically gathering dust on my dresser and my palms, tips and digits have been called into action to blend and pat my daily face into place. It’s taken a bit of getting used to but since my ‘Downing Tools’ post I’ve barely touched my brush pot and as a few of you asked to see the technique in action, I thought I’d talk you through the fibre-free steps in motion. The products are creamier, the effects softer and anything that cuts down on the laborious task of brush laundry gets a thumbs up from me.

Play above, or select to view on YouTube for all the info box bumf and watch as things get a little bit handsy and wee bit messy. Kitchen roll: necessary, socks to wipe your leftover makeup on: optional.

Also- I was wondering where you can get hold of L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara as my Boots doesn’t stock it and it’s not on their website. After hearing your raves and review I really want to give it a go! X

The Max Factor False Lash Effect is my super fave mascara – I always go back to it.

I love using my fingers for applying my makeup. I always go between either loving using brushes or not touching them for ages though xx

I really liked seeing this video to go along with your post. I need to invest in some more cream products so I can experiment with more brush-free makeup.

I always applied make up with my fingers untill i got my first brush set. Tried foundation brush, but use it only for evening make up application. I really feel like it covers more ๐Ÿ™‚ but for day i prefer just fingers.

Vivianna, what’s your beautiful blue nailpolish in your video? Thank you! xxx

  • I always make sure I’ve got some baby wipes to hand when I use my hands to put on my makeup.

Also I find that the Kett cream foundation pans a couple of shades darker than your skin tone work wonderfully as cream contours!

    Great post and video ๐Ÿ™‚

I don’t mind applying cream blushers with my finger tips but I’ve always felt unsure of using my hands to apply foundation. I don’t know what I’d do without my RT Buffing brush! x
