Give Me A Glitter Nail

After yesterday’s pamper where I lacquered myself up with a wintery wine shade on my nails I felt it needed something a little extra to tip it over the edge to be completely ready for tomorrows celebrations; a shimmering, glistening glitter nail to be precise. I’m not a fan of ten digits of glimmer, mainly cause I pre-empt how bloomin’ painful removal of the stubbon stuff can be; so a well placed ring-finger accent is good enough for me. And I just about managed to prise my Christmas jumper off for ten whole minutes to set-up my favourite options against it for a festive favourites family photo.

My fave glitter mixes of all time have to come from OPI; every Christmas without fail they release a snappily named polish packed with shots of shimmer shards that is guaranteed to sell-out and two that I’ve picked up from previous collections are the aptly proclaimed multi-coloured Rainbow Connection and the golden Bring On The Bling. Both of these are wheeled out over the month of December without a doubt and Bring On The Bling is the worst offender for making me break my ‘only one finger’ rule as it looks truly kick-ass painted on all ten – darn it. Essie’s Leading Lady is more recent addition to the crew (blogged about here) and is more of a colour/glitter hybrid containing red shimmers suspended in a burgundy jelly. A nice ‘topper-offer’ over cream finish shades I’d say. If you want to go the whole hog then there’s only one option for it – Ciaté’s Sequin Manicure in Tutu*. Have the hoover on standby then get ready to dip your digit into a pool of sparkly goodness – this is the pick for hardcore glitter lovers. Which one did I plump for? I decided against getting out the hoover and that a coat of Essie’s Leading Lady would suffice and perfectly compliment Revlon’s vampy Vixen*.

Christmas mani sorted, so that’s it from me – it’s time to pack away the lights, laptop and lenses at VDM for Christmas. I’ll be schtum on here tomorrow for the first time in a long while and spending the day watching my family unwrap their pretty darn good pressies from yours truly (they’re awesome if I say so myself), getting into an overexcited frenzy with the fact that I’m 23 and still get a stocking and eating my way into a food coma (hello ten pigs in blankets on my plate). But I’ll be getting things back on track on Boxing Day with a the first of a long-line of upcoming favourites videos, prepare yourself for a ravey onslaught. Have a Merry Christmas you fellow beauty nuts!
