Cause the Lady is a Vamp

The evenings are drawing in, it’s time to roll under your bed and dig out your winter wardrobe and you can sadly wave goodbye to the Pimm’s as the crisp air of autumn is about and before you know it it’ll be time for unflattering coats, layering as much faux fur you can shake a stick at and mulled wine (horray!). Beauty-wise it’s time to dust off those darks. Naming every AW12 runway it was sported on would give me a repetitive strain injury so you just gotta trust me on this one, but I thought I’d give it a go and give a nod to the vamp trend with a dash of black cherry hues on the lips and nails.

I’ve spoken about the new Kate Moss Matte Lipsticks from Rimmel before (post here), and said that the shade #107* rather surprsingly took my fancy out of the bunch. A deep and rusty red, it transfers to an almost rasperberry tone when applied, but I felt daring and fancied something a little darker. Oh yes, I have no idea what’s gotten into me recently either! To darken the drama I smooshed a load of the lippie onto the back on my hand and dabbed on a small amount of whatever black liquid liner I had hanging around (come to think of it a gel liner would have done the trick), gave it a whirl with a lip brush and lacquered on my little concoction. I was rather fond of the finished effect and boy thank God cause it was an arse to remove, making it a good choice for an evening out glugging festive fancies. To match my vampy lips I painted on Essie’s Sole Mate which looks like a berry in the bottle but is pretty much black on the nails – it’s dark, daring and I bloody love it. The perfect changing of the seasons shade.

I’ve gone from not stepping within a 10 metre radius of colour products to orange lips and now near enough black ones, whatever next? Did someone mention coloured mascaras…..
