Travel Beauty Essentials

Ah me, I just love those trains don’t I? If I’m not commuting to and from work on them in the week, then I’m trekking up North to see friends at the weekend! You can’t tear me away! I’ve actually become quite the expert packer when it comes to my travel suitcase. And when it comes to makeup I now really know what is a must-have and what can be left at home (aka ‘no I do not need four lipsticks for a weekend break’). Let me show you the two things which are always the first things I pack.

The By Terry Baume de Rose is a product that it took me awhile to make my mind up on. I actually even considered including it in a ‘products I regret buying’ post at one point – ah the horror! But now it’s a daily essential for me; something that I always carry in my bag and always remember to take on long journeys with me. It’s a multi-purpose, regenerative rose-scented balm, although to put it more simply it’s a ridiculously overpriced lipbalm. I use this on my lips, and my cuticles as well if they’re looking a little ropey. It may be expensive, but this little tub has lasted me well over a year but it’s not the type of lipbalm that you need to reapply all the time, once every few hours and my lips are silky soft. The next product is Caudalie’s Eau de Beaute, a supposed favourite of Queen V.B herself. They call it a ‘beauty elixir’ fancy right? But it’s a product that sits in-between a toner and a serum. It contains extracts of grape, rosemary, orange blossom, rose, myrrh and organic balm mint to both minimise your pores and pep up the skin. Aside from using this as an occasional toner I use it as a re-energising facial sprtiz on the train. Ok it might get you a few stares, but your skin feels amazing afterwards, the mint leaves a lovely cooling effect. Another thing that I picked up from Lisa Elridge, is to spray some into your hands and inhale the smell before patting into your skin. After feeling a little bit woozy on the train the other day the herbals scent of this means I didn’t have to do a T.C, score (extra points if you know what that stands for!).

The By Terry Baume de Rose can be purchased for £33 from Space NK and I got the Caudalie Eau de Beaute from FeelUnique for £9.35. What are your travel essentials? I’m going to Florida in 10 weeks time so I’d love to hear what you think I need to purchase before I leave!
