Sephora, Duane Reade and Bloomingdales cruising aside, it would have been rude to visit the Big Apple without a night on the tiles right? Last time I visited I was a young teen who was more enamoured with the five-storey H&M on Fifth Avenue and stocking up on as much Snapple as I could. But this time round I’m well over the 21 years requirement and there are no teachers around to tell us to get back to our rooms, so on Friday night Lily, Patricia and I headed out with an SITC-attitude (a front of course, we’re all accounted for) and a mission to find the best Amaretto Sours in town. The city that never sleeps? Well we did. At 2am. Beauty & Essex was our port of call and it didn’t disappoint. One of the biggest burgers I’ve ever seen, a bar in the toilets and a very, very lovely Amaretto Sour. It made quite a nice change to my usual sleepy Friday nights in doing puzzles. But it’s back to London tonight, where there’s a Where’s Wally 1000 piece badboy waiting for me…
