The Weekend Post #75: Smelling Goooooood

Because there’s only one thing better than a weekend pamper sesh – a DIY groom with products that smell ridiculously amazing, right? So good in fact, that you tend to go heavy handed just to eek out that whiff a little bit more (see my description below of the Kiehl’s Body Butter which will explain why I go to bed a little slippery every night). So this weekend I’m bringing out the sweet scented big guns…

Ojon Rare Blend Protecting Treatment* – A heat-protecting lightweight oil-laden spritz that leaves your locks wafting around a lemongrass and honey hue? I’m in. It’s a leave-in conditioner type product, a category which I find usually leaves me looking like I’m in desperate need of a shampoo an hour post-application, but five or so sprays – into palms and worked through my hair – gives just the right dose of hydration to my thirsty follicles and I can blow-dry away without feeling too naughty. A good one for lovers of the Redken Anti-Snap who need a ramped up restorative treatment.

Diptyque Precious Oils for Body and Bath – Diptyque do bath oils? Life = made. A quick browse of their site reveals that this is the lone-standing tub filler they do, but you know what – it’s bloomin’ lovely so I’m ok with that. The smell is a tough one to pin-point; slightly floral, with a hint of musk but unisex enough that I’ve spotted this be slipped into my boyfriend’s baths. And he thought I wasn’t looking, tut tut…

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter* – Oh wow. Please excuse me while I unscrew my tub of this stuff to steal another sniff. This pot for of nasal joy is the one that got the ball rolling for this post as it just smells SO GOOD (trust me, there is a real need for capitals there). Like holiday in a body butter. I slather on this almost sunscream scented stuff every night before I clamber into bed and wonder if I will ever see sun again. Oh yes, and the formulas good too.

Suti Fabulous Organic Foot Balm* – I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for peppermint scented products. My Dad always used to have a pot of Body Shop’s Peppermint Foot Scrub about when I was younger and I used to sneakily use it on my teeny tiny feet whenever he wasn’t around. Now this Suti version lacks the sloughing action, but works as a melt-in nourishing balm to massage in before bed. I slip on socks and wake up with smoother than smooth heels, that also smell rather fab.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask – I’ve saved the best till last. Peachy scented goodness that when slathered on as the last step in your skincare routine – I tend to go about my business as normal and then apply this in place of my moisturiser – leaves you with plump and glowy skin come morning. I like to make this a once a week treat to keep any possible dry patches in check. Just remember it’s not edible. Damn.
