The One Where I Try Dungarees Again…

Whistles Dungarees

I have no idea what it is about dungarees but I’m attracted to ’em like a bloomin’ magnet. Sure they’re not the most practical wardrobe purchase, but if I had to hazard a guess it’s probably because they appeal to my inner ‘chic Artist at the weekend‘ wannabe or it might be the fact that I feel about five years younger when I wear them – dungarees are what all the cool kids are wearing these days, right?

When I stumbled across the Whistles Cropped Washed Denim Dungaree I wasn’t looking for a dungaree purchase but I tried them on and they fitted like a glove. A pricey glove at that, but I’m thinking it’s an investment glove – I’ll never need to buy another pair of dungarees again. They’re a washed black denim so look a little lived-in already and they fit cropped on the leg so benefit from a roll or two at the bottom and I do love a good roll (the only downside is that you have to shave your legs – BOO!). I’ve been finding them the perfect weekend wear for popping to the cafe to meet friends or going for a wander down the beach. I just throw them on with a light T-shirt underneath, my leopard print slip-ons and a jacket. As the weather warms up and my ankles freeze less on exposure I’ll only end up wearing them more. Come on sun – where are you at?
