The First Thing I’ve Added to My Winter Capsule Wardrobe

All Saints Helle Yoro

I’m taking my time when it comes to the new additions to my winter capsule wardrobe. I feel like there’s not too much that I want to add anyway, but now is really not a great time to go clothing shopping. Everything is covered in glitter or sequins which come January 1st I’m not really that into anymore and the shops are either in full sale swing or raring to go. If you’re not willing to sharpen your elbows or stand in a queue waiting to pay for 30 minutes then just spare yourself the bother, stay at home, put your feet up and stick on Master of None (I highly recommend). This is of course when the beauty of online shopping comes in and after doing a bit of restrained browsing (I pyshically set myself a timer so I didn’t waste an afternoon scrolling through ASOS) I found my first new winter capsule wardrobe piece…

You know how in my Capsule Wardrobe: Winter Update video I said I was looking for a shirt dress with a bit of pattern based on a black background? Well take a look at this. Doesn’t it just fit that bill to a T? It’s the All Saints Helle Yoro Dress in Night (though I’m quite fond of the Ash one too). It ticks basically every box I have when it comes to dresses. Its relaxed fit, but nice cut means that it can be bundled with thick tights and boots for a causal weekend dinner, but also worn with bare legs and boots for an evening look. It’s definitely not as short as it looks on the site and because it’s a thin fabric it also doubles up as a shirt that can be tucked into jeans. My favourite feature of shirt dresses. It makes the not so digestible price tag a little more justified. Oh and you can fit a more than sizeable food baby underneath there which makes this a top choice for Christmas Day.

So I’m still on the hunt for a skirt. I’m thinking a little faux leather or suede number. Maybe A-line? Nothing too short. Anyone have any suggestions? Anything to stop me browsing ASOS, eh?
