The Bizarre, But Brilliant, Budget Concealer

So I’m ridiculously late to the party with this one (along with the Taylor Swift album that I finally got round to downloading – OMG, I secretly love it – shhhh) and I know it’s been out for years and every Tom, Dick and Harry has sung its praises but now it’s my turn, because the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age The Eraser Eye Perfect & Cover Concealer is really all kinds of awesome. In terms of drugstore concealers, I’d found ones that I liked and that fitted the bill but I can safely say that even just a few weeks after purchase this is the one that rules the roost. Here’s why…

Firstly I’ve got to note that I use the shade Light and it’s a great match – no complaints. It’s not too pinky or yellow and is a tad lighter than my skintone, giving a brightening effect without looking too obvious. There’s no shimmer, or dewiness to the formula, but it’s creamy meaning that it blends in nicely and despite its slip it’s actually a pretty covering formula. Bags where you’ve had a decent-ish amount of sleep and blemishes that aren’t too raging are its forte. Oh and it’s yours for a not too budget busting £7.99. Fab.

But here’s the catch. The way the product is dispersed out of the tube is through a dome-shaped sponge. For under-eye application it’s great; nuzzling into the socket and giving you a way to spread it without things getting too messy. However when it comes to blemishes it’s a bit of a germy minefield. I tend to blot some of the product onto a clean finger and dab it on that way. A bit of work but it’s worth it and in terms of drugstore concealers I don’t think they come better than this.

Right, what other trends to I need to hop onto ridiculously late? Game of Throne? Breaking Bad? Kale?
