So I’ve Been Shopping…

So yes, I’ve been buying unnecessary amounts of beauty bumf again (slaps self on wrist and prays boyfriend doesn’t read my blog) and I thought I would show you my most recent wares for this weekend’s video drop. It’s a Cult Beauty/Space NK-centric one, and though it was sprinkled with quick trips to Boots and Superdrug along the way those bits seem to have dissipated amongst my stash already (surely the reason I need to chill out on the purchasing front) – though I did manage to salvage two pretty polishes. All the products mentioned have been in use for a few weeks now so there are mini reviews muddled in and amongst the mix there’s a repurchase, a do-it-all balm that even my beautyphobic mum loves and a bit of dud to look out for. Cue happy hauling smiles all round.

    Hi Anna!
I love your blog and I read your post religiously every morning. You are my Fav!
I am glad you talk about Alpha-H Liquid Gold. I’ve wanted to try it for ages but never can press the ”add to cart” button because of the mix reviews and my confused skin.
I have sensitive skin and it is prone to acne and perioral dermatitis. I have been using the Clarins Brightening Exfoliating toner for 2 weeks now, with not much improvement. (every other morning, every night. followed by Ren Hydrating Mist)
Anyway, are the Clarins and Alpha H similar products?
Do you think I can still use Alpha H even if Clarins doesn’t seem to work for me?
I would really like to have your opinion. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Thank you xo

    • fibee

You should use a product longer than two weeks before deciding it doesn’t work. Give it two months ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Pea

You are probably right, but with Alpha H Liquid Gold, everybody seems to say you get overnight results.
My chin is actually worst since using Clarins for 17 days straight up…. I will keep doing it as it might be a “purge period”, but I am not too confident about it.
        Thanks for your reply ๐Ÿ™‚

To be honest the Alpha-H is not for the faint hearted. I see a lot of people using this prematurely to prevent aging. It will sloth away the layer and you wake up to raw skin. If you have sensitive skin than do not try it. It is intense stuff.

If you are skeptical about the price I would suggest purchasing from eBay for a reduced price.

  • Lauren B

I love both the nail polishes you bought- I think I need to make a trip to Boots as I need them in my life! haha

  • Se1 Girl

Shame you found the Laura Mercier concealer only useful for spots, I use it all over and am a huge fan. Keen to try the Alpha H though, been on my “to try” list for months!

  • Ada Strauss

Super cute! I love the packaging of all the products you bought. There’s something so nice and luxurious about using a large, amber glass jar.

    Hi there ๐Ÿ™‚

I need help!!!! I’ve just watched your new video and I was sooooo excited to see that you will be talking new Oribe spray. I’ve wanted Oribe Texturizing spray for ages but it is sooo expensive. Anyway I decided to just go for it. I saw your video and now I don’t know which one I want – Thick Dry Finishing Spray or Texturizing spray. Can you tell me what is the difference and which one you like more. I have very oily, thin blond hair (need to wash it at least once a day) and I need something which doesn’t give you any shine. Excuse my English I am from Poland.

  • Hannah

Love your hauls, especially from Space NK!

  • Pippa Jones

After you spoke about the Laura Meircer concealer duo, I cant help but really want one!

FYI: If you purchase it you will have to spend a few days working on a technique. Draw for your smallest flexible brush for spot coverage and blend into skin with warm fingertips. I also noticed today that a flat top kabuki is also great for blending.

It is a dry concealer, so you need to master your technique/application.
