Seeing Double? Pinky Brown Glosses

It always happens doesn’t it. You close your eyes and when you open them before you know it you’re seeing double, triple, quadruple and clutching four brown-tinged pink lipglosses in your hand. These seem to be my new lip obsession – sheerer than a lipstick, the most natural of nudes and wearable with any makeup look, I can’t seem to stray from them at the moment. Here’s a little run down of my favourites…

The Laura Mercier Lip Glacés are some of the best lipgloss formulations I have come across (full review here). This shade, Bare Peach, does lean towards more of an apricot hue but does have a bit of pink and brown thrown in there too making it a gorgeous natural nude on the lips. For a more opaque colour, the OCC Lip Tars are great. I have the shade Interlace which deposits a pigmented dash of pink and brown in equal measures on the lips. Due to its liquid lipstick texture it’s not the easiest to apply but definitely has the most coverage. If I fancy something a little more pinky, then I grab the Chantecaille Lucky Brilliant Gloss*. This imparts a hint of a pinky brown nudey sheen to the lips with the tiniest amount of sparkle – very pretty, very girly and very easy to wear. Finally, the gloss that solidified this love of pinky brown lipglosses for me is from Illamasqua’s newest collection (full review of that here) – the Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in Intimacy. Probably the truest brown toned pink of the bunch this gives a nice amount of colour to the lips, is pretty long lasting for a gloss and smells rather nice too. Plus, who can’t love the name? Saucy!

Right I’m to douse my lips with some more gloss! What is your favourite lip trend at the moment – are you loving the Summer brights or sticking with safe nudes like me?
