Another week, another Oribe purchase. Product by product my lock lineup is being turned into an Oribe-centric affair. I’m ok with that, my bank balance isn’t. So when I spotted their newest launch through the window at Space NK, it’s no surprise what happened next; with ‘thick’ and ‘dry’ in the title, it was already written in the stars. Its full name is the Thick Dry Finishing Spray – a subtler and more follicle fattening version of their Dry Texturising Spray which I point blank refuse to keep count of how many bottles I have spritzed and juzched my way through.
One quick spray in a halo motion just before I race out the door seems to magically turn a bad hair day into a do that I won’t groan at the next time I spot my reflection. Just the right balance of volumising, hold, with a bout of dryness that banishes my floppy hair and holds it to attention. In terms of comparisons with the Dry Texturising Spray – the Thick Dry Finishing Spray is much less drying, a bit more hairspray like, but doesn’t have the oil-banishing qualities. Would I use the two together? Not unless my roots were well past their wash time.
