Olivia Palermo Does Nails & They’re A Beaut

Oliva Palermo Ciate

When I was a late teen, reality TV was at its peak. I was old enough to stay up late and watch Big Brother and MTV was on it with all things Lauren Conrad who was my style/makeup/career/everything icon at the time. It’s safe to say that I’ve watched every episode of Laguna Beach, The Hills and then the Whitney Port spin-off, The City at least as many times as I have fingers and toes and I still smile every time I see a ‘I want to forgive you and I want to forget you‘ GIF. I must say that at the time, Olivia Palermo wasn’t my favourite character, but I can always appreciate a good beauty look and an eye for style and that girl has both by the bucket load and in recent years her clothing choices are always something that make me swoon. Her wedding knit and skirt combo? LOVE. So when I heard that she was collaborating with Ciaté on a capsule collection of nail polish, my interest was piqued…

…and rightly so, because the resulting trio of lacquer is every bit chic as you’d expect. There are three in total and each comes beautifully packaged in the usual Ciaté bottle, with a golden lid and in a box that’s so pretty you’ll want to keep them housed in there forever. I guess that’s the justification of why they’re a little pricier at £17. The colour palette is right up my street and if you added a blue, a mint and a lilac-y greige in there then I’d be sorted.

Sunday’s is what Olivia describes as her ‘off-duty nude’ and is a sheer pink that doesn’t come off too white. I read a review on Sephora from someone saying that this is a fab bridal shade, so I’ll definitely be pointing my sister in the direction of this for her upcoming nuptials. Nantucket is probably my favourite of the three and is what I’m wearing in the picture above. It’s a peachy coral that’s unlike anything else I own really and the formula is beautiful. It’s worth pointing out here that the brushes of all of these are wide-set so easy to use and each can get away with just one coat being applied. Olivia’s ‘go-to red’ is called Hutch and let me tell you this really, truly only needs one layer. It’s amazing. A cherry, blue-toned rouge that’s easy to wear all year round.

Great colours, wicked formula – it gets a thumbs up from me. Now if LC did a polish collection, I don’t think my inner 16 year old would be able to contain its excitement…
